Schon tip replacement

I'm getting ready to replace the tip on a Schon and the player would like the same kind put back on. I did some searching and found out that Schon makes their own tips. Can someone suggest a direct replacement? I'm thinking a Moori quick or an Ultraskin hard.

Thanks,

Al

The stock Schon tips are some kind of re-pressed/doctored Water Buffalo, and to me are WAY harder generally than both the Moori and the red Ultra. I still like them, but several I know don't.

I haven't had a chance to try the blue HH Ultra yet.

As far as one-piece tips,I think the one that comes closest to the stock tip is a Sumo, and I only know of one guy on here that has any of those.

Those are WAY harder than many people will like, even if they give the adjustment ample time.

I think you can still buy the stock tips with the .062 thick pad installed, but not in huge quantities.

I have a red Ultra on my current playing shaft, and can find no advantage to the Kamui Black H. Tommy D.

seybert's used to sell the schon tips, but i can't find them on their site anymore. Not sure if schon sells them directly. I think the closest replacement would be the WB brand water buffalo tips.

Sumo's like the previous poster mentioned are close too, but they're not made anymore. Also be careful, there was a good original kind of Sumo, then a later version which really sucked, it was a totally different kind of leather.

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't have the WB or sumo in stock and he doesnt really want to wait to order so I will just go with the M quick.

Thanks,

Al
