This is a feeler
i am close friiends with schon,Evan Clark

we are working on doing some traditional style designs available from me alone

Limited Edition designs of the traditional cuemakers

First run will feature Balabushka inspired mother of pearl diamonds and dots

you are probably already familiar with my style cues

if you want to be involved in the project, each design will consist of 7 cues.no more

each cue will be in the area of$1200 or so,with choices of ferrules, wraps and shafts

these new Schons are,in my opinion the best cues ever made, they have the very best old heavy wood

There is a lot of talk on Az,but more champions were won with schon than any other cue

A survey here put Schon among the top 3 hitting cues of all time
The cues are so good,it is amazing that the prices are so reasonable

If you buy one of the first cues, you might be surprised at the return on
investment should you decide to sell

I would love to have a brand new R-12 stitched, my favorite schon. PM me if interested. Skip

V bottom points or CNC? I'd love have something simple like an r6.
Dean,
GREAT IDEA,
Schon Tribute...
I LOVE the idea,
I HOPE It will Be Truly Classic construction,
WITH Sharp Points and veneers,
If So,
I will certainly get one.
I TOTALLY AGREE,
Schon cues are some of the best-made,
ESPECIALLY THE CUES THAT BOB RUNDE BUILT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely one of the Best Amercian cuemakers !

If Schon Makes A Bushka Tribute Design Cue....Count Me In.

I searched and searched everywhere for a Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue and during my efforts to loicate such a cue, undoubtedly antagonized and annoyed many forum readers with my relentless postings......Oh Bah Dee Oh Blah Daa....so I finally quit looking. Over a four month searc span, I only located two Scruggs Bushka Tributre cues and one seller wouldn't part with it for any price....and I think he meant it too.... and the second seller wanted over $8,000 for the cue.....a bit tto rich for my wallet.

So I settled on buying a '06 Scruggs w/ ivory joint and I'm really pleased with it....but in the back of my mind, i still want that Bushka Tribute design cue. There's been a couple listed by other cue makers like James White and Richard Black but their designs varied from the George Balabushka's original designs which was probably because these cuemakers were trying to produce a distinct looking cue but it didn't click for my taste. So if Evan Clarke is going to come out with a limited series that more closely resemble the original Balabushka designs....keep in mind that there were 3 distinct periods in George's design workmanship....then count me in and let me know when and where to send a downpayment.

I have a custom made Schon R-12 that I personally designed with Bob Runde's help back in 1984 at the very first BCA Trade Show held in Fort Worth, TX. It was the best hitting cue I've stroked any pool balls with up until I got my Scruggs cue which has a remarkable feel to it. But the two cues are made differently....The Schon weighs 20.4 ozs and the butt is much thicker than the Scruggs cue and the ferrules are Micarata & the cue has a stainless steel joint and Moori medium tips (nickel shaped). The Scruggs cue weighs 18.3 ozs and has a full faced flat ivory joint, ivory ferrules and a Kamui hard tips which I also nickel shaped. The two cues are noticeably different in feel for obvious reasons and I now prefer the Scruggs cue as my main playing cue.

However, if Evan can even come close to the looks, quality and hit/feel of my early R-12 cue, I can't wait to get one of those cues that you've mentioned. But this time I'll order it with a narrower butt, ivory ferrules and an overall lighter cue weight. I'm sending you a PM with all of my contact information so you can have it handy when it's time to order the cues and send some money.

Schon R-12

I would love to have a brand new R-12 stitched, my favorite schon. PM me if interested. Skip

I totally agree with you!

I had one like this looooooong time ago - one of very few cues I might be convinced to play again

schon cues hit real good. got a couple customs but never without at least one schon. Evan turns out a nice cue at a reasonable price.

count me in

I would be interested also, Count me in. Lets hope these have sharp points and not rounded.

Evan is concerned with making the best hitting cue, like Schon-in a word
I doubt that he will do a mitred point,he feels that the quality of cue is better with the schon way

I respect that, what I am trying to do is get a traditional Balabushka,Szamboti,Palmer,Paradise LOOK
and the great play of a schon

If any of you want the sharp points or Runde style,I have an arrangement with Bob Runde and if you tell me in a PM what you want,I can get that too

These Schon Traditional Style Old School will be very limited

You might want one of each,Evan Clark and Bob Runde

In the words of Jerry Franklin"Nobody can compete with that" when looking at schons
I had

Contact me with a pm if you want to get 1 of the first 7,make that 5,I am going to keep 1 to play and 1 to collect of each group

The best of the best

Just ordered the first one

It will be a tribute to my favorite Balabushka
the one with the 2 acryllic rings in the butt,
it will have mother of pearl, and please everyone

I sold this model cue to Steve Mizerak in the 80s
His was made by Verl Horn as a tribute

Mike Cochran made me 3 of these style cues and everyone loved it

It might be an exaggeration to say this is the most single desired cue in the world,
but it wouldn't be far off

I have tried over and over to keep this design before the pool world
but never before by Evan Clark, and never again

So if you love Schon cues for the way they play,
and there is something about you old school too

then you better order yours now
7 are being made,I am keeping 2 ,1 to play,1 for investment

that leaves 5,only 5

now is the time to order
I do cash, paypal and Lay away

but in 60 days when these are ready,i expect to have 5 homes for 5 pieces of pool cue history

These cues should go for $1200, Schon is famous for selling good cues at affordable prices and Evan will price these

$100 will hold yours,no one else will ever own one there will be no second run

Is it just a "tribute" by way of colors and inlays shapes/materials or dimension wise too? Are you Balabushka's going to have the shorter butt sleeve the 13 1/2 wrap? Are you going to be using real Cortland linen? Pechaur has some. I think it would be a nice touch. I want a Balabushka tribute and I'm on STeve Kleins list to get one as his seem to be perfect copies from the look of it.

I think we all want to know if the actual construction of the cue will be different or is it just a "throw back" design?

I respect that, what I am trying to do is get a traditional Balabushka,Szamboti,Palmer,Paradise LOOK
and the great play of a schon

According to his post; it will have the look of the great but will play like a Schon cause it will be built like a Schon.....

billyard is correct

built like a schon, overall look of a balabushka

tribute not reproduction
you guys have seen my style cues and you know my pricing

please don't use my thread to express your ideas
buy one or don't buy one
5 lucky guys are gonna get a great looking cue that plays like a schon

the best playing schons are the new ones

these are going to be priced like the other schons but have a chance to be something special from day one
