Schon, Whats the difference?

I've seen many different Schon cues (as we all have), every now and then I come across someone looking for a "Gold Letter" Schon. Does that mean with the 'Schon' logo written in gold on the butt? What would god letters indicate?

Also, wonder if you Schon folks could have a look at the pic below. These are from different years of production,
Would you say they are all authentic? or from looking at the logo, would you think any are counterfeit (or not necessarily Schon)? Thanks

Most likely referring to the the shafts from 1993, they said Schon and the MM on the collars in gold coloring.

Stamps wear out, so slight differences in logo is going to happen.

Should be able to email schon and have them verify if they made a cue.

Some of thos are so far off , they don't look real . Heard stories about counterfiting , but never seen any myself . Thats why he started putting the Schon name on shafts , I heard , again all hearsay .

I dont recognize the one logo, right column, 2nd down.
Doesnt mean its not real, could very well be fine. Ive seen a lot of Schons, and never recall seeing that marking though. The "C" and "N" are funny looking FWIW.

All of them are legit EXCEPT the one you pointed out...

The ones with the curly "S" are the earlier cues UNLESS the cues butt cap was replaced by Schon after the mid 90's. Since then they use their new logo on replaced caps...

In case anyone is interested in old Schon logo's.
I have the first limited design by Schon, and the logo looks to be scripted in gold

This Schon logo is from August 1985........the inscription is also on my cue's butt
and the fonts help illustrate what Bob Runde was using on Schon cues back then.

Yeah, I thought about that. Did you know they charge for services like that now.
You fill out a form on the website and send them (PayPal or something similar) $20 and they will verify or identify

That one doesn't appear to be a "real" Schon?

Your inscription is a specific font. The Schon logo is a custom designed hybrid

Ya got me there......All I know is my cue has a genuine Schon logo and the inscription was what Bob Runde used for my cue......he could have carved it using a penknife for all I would have cared after what I put him through.

These are all hand engraved are they not? If you look closely at all of the samples provided, no two marks are even close to exactly the same. Although the second down on the right looks a little off, I see enough similarities between it and the other samples to believe it's genuine.

I'm not graphologist but I can see none of these things looks like the other.
