Scotch Doubles is a Joke at Tornado

i love scotch doubles. it's about teamwork and communication. you learn how to cope up with your partner's weaknesses and take advantage of the strengths.

Yep, it's the old stand by. I may not like a few things about the APA (rules) but I know there are 250K folks playing pool that would not be playing without it, so that has to be good.

And in what other hobbies do you have to be the BEST. I know guys that play softball, hockey, basketball, and they all play in leagues, but they don't take crap from other folks because they are not that great. They enjoy the game, have some fun, hang out with friends, and on occasion the sink a basket or bloop in a single ;)

The truly insulting thing about the standard dismissal of league players is that just because ones playing ability isnt great doesn't mean their intellect is lacking, and that their opinions should be any less valid.

All those people are stupid and they suck. If they can't play at a pro level they should quit and go home and post snarky comments on the internet because we all know that is where all the champs are!

Scotch doubles is the most fun to play and watch imo, especially when partners are micced up and you can listen to them discuss which pattern/shot selection/safety route. Imo it's the most educational because often times the shooter is shooting from a different position than they would have chosen. I think I just like it because you tend to see them get out of position more than they would playing invidually, so they have to come with a great shot. It's also the most fun to play because usually when my buddies and I match up for cheap sets the teams are divided evenly amongst skill so there's a stronger player and a weaker player on both teams and usually the stronger player has to play tighter position than they would usually try for, either resulting in great shots or poor ones, which is just downright fun!

Funny thing is, I've noticed that when SVB and Morra told there woman partners what safety to play (multiple rails with the CB), both times the women couldn't execute it.

I would have told them just that, this is what I would do, but please do whatever safety that you're comfortable with.

The REALLY funny thing is watching Morra giving Alison Fisher advice. The number of years she has been ranked number one in the world, both in the US and Europe, exceed the number of years Morra has played pool.

If you watched closely, the guys sharked their partners far worse than their opponents could have.
