Scrap wood laying around?

I've recently gotten into pen turning. I've gotten some blanks from flebay and I thought I'd try another source. If any cue makers have any scrap wood laying around ( 3/4" x 5" would be great) they'd like to get rid of, I'd like to buy some. Please PM or post pictures. Thanks in advance.

Check the cue machinery and supply section. I have some wood for sale there, as do others.

Its an addiction. Stop now before you get too far!!!! Its fun and very relaxing for me. Post up some pics in a thread I started in NPR.....New Found Hobby. Ive only been turning pens for a couple of months.

Check out any local Cabinet Makers.

Quite often, they have lots of scrap that they just toss in the dumpster.

Might even find a bit of exotic in the pile.

Thanks for the replies.

Allen, it's definitely an addiction. I, too, find it very relaxing. I've posted pictures of 3 that I've made so far in the thread you mentioned.

There was only one cabinet place that I knew of. I went to visit them this weekend, only to find out they were out of business. That was a great idea though.

I have a pretty old dining room set, about 80-90 years old. The kids have been leaning back in the chairs, and 2 of them have broken beyond repair. Instead of just throwing them out, I decided to make a pen out of it to see how it looked. I'm pretty pleased with the way it looks.

I started this thread here thinking I could help people clean out their scrap pile, while getting some new pieces. If anyone has any laying around, please PM me with prices and pictures.
