Scrim Layout for Upcoming ER

Have you thought about getting their signatures on the cue before the finish is applied? Maybe ER could ship you the cue you could catch all of them at a tournament, get their signatures and then send it back to ER for the finish! Just a thought! Would add some value to the cue and make it a little more personal!

I believe the cue is gong to be coming with a certificate of authenticity and I had planned on having them sign that. Since Edwin is in the Phillipines It would probably be too much trouble as he already plans on hand-delivering the cues to the states.

Not a bad idea! I hope the cue exceeds your expectations.

Question

Zack,

Did ER email you the layout or is that what you did for him? I just emailed him the raw images on mine and asked him to do his thing. I am intrigued because your images are so clear.

BTW, my cue was inspired by Frank Miller.

Thanks,

Peter

Ed has mentioned x-raying the cues and giving out copies of the x-rayed cue. :)
His sig would be imbedded inside the cue too. What a madman. :)
That's what happens when your cues are copied and sold on Fleabay.

He did the layout for me after I emailed him the pics.

Googling Frank Miller to see who he is/was...lol.

First off, I'd like to thank everybody for being patient and knowledgeable about this project and somewhat understanding my passion and approach to this craft/art. Even though there were set parameters fr the specmens, I just couldn't agree and conform to such when the illustrations were sent in. I'm used to one-of art, and being such, Ijust had to recompose the whole cue. As you can see, and mostly the other craftsmen here recognizes, the inlay work became complicated. I've got a hunch that my fellow craftsmen here are interested on seeing the inlay work more than the scrim as they are aware of the work involved in inlaying a piece with a double inside, one in the inlay piece and the other in the cavity, sharp corner into a circle.

An example and sneak preview on the scrim work is attached for you all. This is a panel on Rackn' Zack's and it is of J. Lee. Being an image portraying an individual, this rendition became extremely difficult as it is more than 1:20 reduction from actual thus making it a "micro-scrim portraiture". The difficulty is ten-fold of what you have all seen in "Bandido's Cues" , most if not all are just solid color into sections, as the rendering has to be extremely faithful to the submitted image. Gradient shades HORROR!

Another piece was recomposed to be titled as "Rainbow", a cue done with butterfly splices as the image sent was of a Native American art (Don's). Another is of Dragons and the butt inlay composition are castle towers and knight shield minor inlays titled "Sentry"(AzB's). Peter's was composed to be a metropolis for his nightcrawler, etc.... ;) t

Thank you very much for not disrupting the artistic flow, I really, really appreciate it after all the fiasco with counterfeiters and name-grabbers that I've been through aside from the cpu and peripheral hardware and software problems that I still am wrestling with. I also apologise for the lack of communication no matter what the contributing factors were/are.

Yikes! I just tried to post the image and I got a window asking me to register! I'll just e-mail the photo to Zack or Joey for posting.

Ha! Good thing that I copied the above text. I had to re-register then paste and attach image. Succeeding photos will be the responsibility of the owners. I'd like to keep it as a surprise to those who showed appreciaton by backing their words with action aside from keeping these away from the slap-together-in-a-rush copycats.

By the way, the latest development on the fiasco. 1. I recieved a call yesterday from Mika888 just to check on me as he recieved a phone call telling him that I just had a stroke!??? 2. Linds and EPT Supremo just saw, with their own eyes, computer printouts on the desk of the Audrick supplier Benny of Guagua Pampanga. The images....ER 8 Horses, Thorns and Stay Away. Apparently, the German owner of Audrick Cues wants him to duplicate these cues! Have Fun!!!!LOL

The cue looks incredible! I can't wait to see it in person.

You won't be disappointed. This 60"er is estimated to have a natural final weight of 19.5 ozs. and 18.5" from bumper balance point. I've test played a R7 match with it and the feel transfer to stroking fingers is great but a li'l on the harsh side due to the absence of its leather wrap. I've got a feeling that this will never set foot on your display case.

Hey, Zack. Did you have to get permission to use those photos, either from the photographers or subjects? I'm not trying to be the copyright police; just curious.

I was only able to contact one of the three and got her permission. I sent the other two emails from their website and never got an answer so I took a chance that they wouldn't mind.

Just thought I'd share with everyone the layout for the butt of my #7/12 AZB ER cue!

JimBo has said from time to time, "STOP CUE DESIGN THEFT!!!!!!"

I wonder if the make of this Cue who I assume is Selling it to a Second Party has the Permission to use their Images/Likenesses for Commercial purposes?

Scrimshaw is Beautiful
