Scruggs experts chime in please

Is this a REAL Scruggs butt? I dont remember ever seeing one where he used this type of material for the butt that looks like carbon fiber. The cue is stated as being a 1979 so Im wondering. Thanks

I don't know if that's a Scruggs but that is not
carbon fiber it is black linen phenolic. I usually
see white delrin butt caps on TS but with a Hoppe
style cue black material is not surprising. A cue
that old could have had the butt cap replaced.

Black linen phenolic for sure. The logo looks pretty accurate, but knockoffs from overseas have been showing up. Where did you find this, geographically?

I think this TS is the branded TS. You should see some discoloration in the Delrin otherwise I be skeptical.
