This is a feeler on my Tim Scruggs old school sneaky, it is in good shape and straight, and comes with 1 shaft.. 19OZ

As you know these cues are getting harder and harder to find, and this is a great example of a great player..

This cue was warped

I bought this cue from Chris a month ago, and as soon as I received it I saw it had a bad roll in the butt, the joint lifts off the table quite a bit. Ever since then I've been trying to return the cue, but Chris has not been very responsive to my PM's. His response was that he sold the cue for a friend, and he is asking the friend if there was a warp in the cue. I don't think his friend's answer even matters. I certainly didn't warp the cue and who knows if his "friend" even realized there was a warp in the cue. I think it's very unlikely that he will resolve this situation, so I am making a point of letting people know what they may be in for if they buy a cue from Chris. Buyer beware.

az is a minefield. :(

the op says "my TS sneaky" (no mention of selling it for a friend) and he states the cue is "straight".

If the butt is not straight, he owes you your money back, in full.

Any of you guys ever heard of a 'red flag'? When I first saw $650 for a plain SP Scruggs, I thought, "Hell, you just wasted 10 seconds of my time."

sorry I just don't know prices well... did you think this was too expensive or too cheap? I've been seeing SP scruggs go for that price range or just less..

now that's funny. Why does everyone have a full bar of green rep?

I have never even looked at itrader before making a deal - instead I do searches on the member's posts to see if they are nuts, and to see if anyone else has complained about them.

since he advertised it being straight and now he is saying it was his friends and is asking him if he was or if he knew about it being warped...

i know one thing.. whenever i sell a cue OR ANYTHING for any friends...

i wont give them their money till i am positive the deal is complete and everybody is happy...

and before i advertise any cue on the forum, mine or anybody elses.. you have to make sure for yourself that its straight because the first question a potential buyer always asks "if its straight" and if you dont know from the second you made the post, your wasting alot of everybodies time.. and are bound to end up with problems in the end...

best thing to do is descibe every single flaw no matter how small and minute..

that way everybody knows from the beginning what they are getting into..

Singernak, do the right thing and take care of your mess...

Scruggs SPs

For what it's worth:
Not to knock Scruggs as I own several of the TS SPs in fact I bought the last six new plain ones like this that came from Tim's shop and have bought at least 15 total without a butt cap or joint collars. They all had a slight roll up and down movement at the pin end of the butt. Some great shafts.
The ones with butt caps only and with butt caps and joint collars have rolled perfectly flat for me.
However these plain Sneakys do play great. If you are not fussy like me and look under the cue as rolled you may never notice the roll. Most roll straight looking from the top. I would say most cues have some movement when looking under as rolled. If you want a Sneaky to roll perfectly flat try a Frey, JMW, and SLY ( I am impressed ) I'm sure there are others.
Must have been a poor batch of Valley's.

I rolled the cue on my table before i even listed it for sell for my friend, i know before it left Vegas, the cue was straight, i am not sure if humidity could have anything to do with the cue having a roll, but i do know one thing and that is the cue was inspected before i shipped it.

And i have also tried contacting the friend who asked me to help him sell the cue.

Hopefully this gets all worked out.

I guess i will not sell any more cues for friends.

I WAS JUST ABOUT TO EMAIL YOU ONCE AGAIN ON THE JOSSWEST CUE YOU SOLD ME ...YOUR FRIENDS.... AND IN YOUR POST YOU LISTED THE CUE AS STRAIGHTWHICH IN RECIEVING IT IT IS FAR STRAIGHT AS THE BUTT HAS A ROLL OR THE PIN IS BENT. YOU HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS ANSWERED ONE EMAIL SAYING WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS WELL IT BEEN CLOSER TO A MONTH SINCE THE CUE ARRIVED. IN THIS THREAD YOU STATE WHEN YOU ARE SELLING AS A GO BETWEEN YOU HOLD MONEY UNTIL ALL PARTIES ARE SATISFIED WELL CHRIS TO BE STRAIGHT UP WITH YOU YOU ARE A LIAR AS YOU TOLD ME THE DAY I SPOKE WITH YOU THAT YOU HAD ALREADY GIVENTHE GUY THE MONEY AND FOR ME TO CONTACT BILL STROUD OF JOSSWEST TO FIGURE THE PROBLEM OUT.
