I lucked into this cue the other day and fell in love with it.
It plays Extremely well.

I know that it is an early TS cue from the logo and the Micarta joint.
The finish is original and has no nicks or dings.

I am curious to know how "rare" the micarta joint option was?
Also I have never seen a double ring like this on any other TS cue

As you can tell my camera is not the great. I tried 30 different times to get a picture of the points On all 4 of the ebony points there is a triangle inlay. It looks like the original customer or Tim wanted inlays then decided against it and put the cut outs back. You can barely see it and have to move the cue into the correct light to make them visible.
Has anybody seen this on a cue before?

I will defer to Counrty here.

It looks like Mike or Timi did some special lovin to that thing. Mike would repair exploded Ivory Joints like this. I have only seen one other. That cue is going to be one sweet playing thang. As to what is and isn't origional can't say.
I had a 4 point TS cue with the same repair. Tonyboy loved it and let it go to be nice. Wade said it was magic in his hands.
You could have really lucked out.
Enjoy,
Nick :)

Nick,

Last you and I spoke...I had mentioned there was an older gentleman (from league) that loved that cue and really wanted it (old school). So I sold it to him and he's been shooting with it for close to a year now. However, I just acquired one similar to the one I got from you (without the maple dash rings) from someone on the site some months back and just had it refinished by Rick Phillipi and it's beautiful. Plays lights out and weighs in at or just under 19oz (depending on the shaft).

Love those 80's Scruggs cues...Very nice cue you have there Sir!
