Scruggs used a variety of bumpers on simple sneakies over the years...
And this does look to have a 14 thread piloted joint...which would be correct....
But the pilot does not look Scruggs to me.
From the wear inside the butt end of the joint it does look like that pilot is a compression fit, so that's nice, and a plus point for the cue.
It does look like a good sneaky and should clean up nice. Hope you didn't pay too much.
Without the TS on it I think the sneakies are really hard to nail down...and I believe there were early ones with no TS on them.
Ultimately, I certainly wouldn't pay Scruggs type money for it. Just standard good ol' sneaky money, if it's straight etc.
EDIT: The trend I see is that every unknown old sneaky is a Scruggs, every unknown old steel jointed cue is an early JOSS or Joss West, and every unknown old cue with some fancy rings and dots or diamonds is a Balabushka....by far most turn out to be not so.
