scuff mark on SS joint collar

I had a piece of chalk inside my case and it looks like it somehow rubbed against the SS joint on a schon cue and left a scuff mark or dull mark on the nicely polished stainless steel joint. I am wondering if there are any tricks to get this scuff or dull spot back to the nice shiny polished look?

Thanks,

dakota

Or you could polish it by hand...or even better with a Dremel & felt wheel. You only need a dab of metal polish. The Dremel will make it like chrome if you want.

Varney,

Thanks for the advice, since I don't have a local repair man, I will likely give this a try. In fact the "local repair man" thing drives me so crazy that I'm very close to buying a basic lathe for tips and basic repairs. I have done cue work at a pool hall years ago, but just need the tools to do it here.

If I run out and get some metal polish, what should I look for?

Thanks again for the advice Varney...
