im no artist, just getting started really, but this along with a few other items
box case,
eventually the master plan is to sculpt, and mill out the outter side parts and legs for my own pool table to be built, by a pro
but then j/p`s came across my mind, even if I only make stuff for me ill be super happy

j/p

Very nice design. Hate to imagine the machining time involved with something
that intricate. Probably have to do it for yourself. Not many people willing to
pay the bill for the programing and milling time. 3d printing may work, but that's
a whole other money pit.

well when ur day job just happens to be cnc programming
you got that covered,
but I wanted to see how printing comes out

Though you will be able to mill something somewhat similar, the final result won't look nearly as refined as the model... Tool limitations will be the issue...

I would definitely need to "punch" up the fine detail
but jewlers use .005 ball mills and can get that type of detail, and wayyy more
look up tomas wittlesbach's work

, and with this one being a rotary path,
the only deciding factor for me will be how much time will I want to have this in the machine, could be hrs, and for a one off piece for myself that's ok

Getting the surface finish on the minor like that would mean that jp may b in the mill for 24 hrs. A wise designer may figure out how to implement the tool marks left by a ball mill into the design.

I completely understand. As a one off I can see it done but not as production due to machining time.. It's nice looking to me but only if it has the fine detail... Good luck with it and post pics when done...

I have thought about this as well. I actually 3d printed a bumper for my cue but only as a prototype until 3d printing in neoprene or something similar comes along.

back at it

so I just got my first sculpture printed, I was tickled pink

the size was completely random but it reminded me that I wanted to make some super unique very awesome joint protectors,

hitting it hard, next design will be printed with a threaded id and will post pics of it screwed to the cue, though design is still completely unknown

I love this program zbrush, completely unreal

I have a friend who owns this printer, he loves the projects,\
this material is incredible as well, very very light and shimmery

Nothing wrong w keeping hot sauce in your desk. I highly recommend El Yucateco and it sucks when you need it and you're out. It does look like Scooby.

I prefer Cholula hot sauce. Not quite as hot but has more flavor.. .. Yeah kinda missed the "wolf" on the prots.
