Seaglass505 shafted me. Buyer's beware!

Most of you on here probably dont know me because you never see me in here posting. I like to come on here and read up on what I am missing, or look for my next cue. I have bought my Tim Scruggs on this sight (he didnt know howto leave feed back) and my Pat Diviney. Absolutely no issues with either. However, my last transaction with Seaglass505 has put a bad taste in my mouth and will make it hard for me to deal on here anymore. If you look on his history, you will see my Meucci Day gent that I had listed here a few months back. He wanted to make a trade. We agreed on a deal that included 3 joss cues with 2 shafts a piece, an OB shaft, and a jump stick. All cues were said to roll straight seperate and together. I sent my Day Agent that was in perfect condition, prolly 98-99%. What I got in the mail from him blew me away. He sent 3 butts and 1 shaft along with the ump stick and the OB! The Joss shaft has a ferrale that was too big for it and the shaft was warped. One of the butts has a .24 inch bow in the middle of the butt and the third one wasnt even one the cues we agreed on. So all in all He sent one wrong cue, one badly bent butt, one badly warped shaft, and missing 5 shafts. I send a message back to Seaglass stating that I am going to send these back to him and I want me Meucci back. He lies to me telling me that he has is tore apart to put a new wrap on it for his buyer. Thats when I noticed it listed on here still in perfect condition. I tell him I am sending the package back. He says he will deny it and that I got a good deal. He tells me what these cues book out at. Nobody in their right mind will buy these cues in the condition they are in.
This man promised one thing and did another. He promised a product and instead of following through with the cues we agreed on, he ended up digging junk out of his closet to give me. He has since sent 2 more shafts to me that are very beat up and are of no use to me in the condition they were in. They all will need new ferrales and tips before they will be playable. I have all emails, pictures, and corispondance of what was promised if needed. I hate to do this on here. I have never once done this on a forum but this is ridiculous. That is not the right way to do business. I have over 160 transactions on Ebay and a lot of which are pool cues. I dont have any negative of neutral feedback.
I apologize for the rant, but a guy like that should have no right to be doing business in a place like this. If you cant live up to your end with what you promise, go somewhere else.
By the way, after 2 weeks of trying to get a hold of Seaglass, he said he will talk to me about my Meucci after the weekend on Monday because he was with his kids. I thought that was fine. Monday became Tuesday. Then I see on here that it was posted that he sold out. He sold it knowing full well that he hasnt lived up to his end of the deal. That is a thief in my book.

I hope you guys are able to get this issue resolved. That's not fun for any of to this situations like this become more and more frequent.

Good luck.

Couple points:

1. Just because this guy ripped you off it shouldn't reflect badly on other users here
2. Next time make sure to use Escrow for such a large transaction
3. Can you please link us to the sale thread?
4. Can you copy/paste the communication between you and seaglass505?

Do a Search for Seaglass505 and Threads he has started.

The Meucci sale thread is there to read.

Quite the active little salesman he is. If the story is true, and I have no reason to believe that it isn't, I doubt I would trust him. His sales pitches are rather on the smarmy side.

And Cotter gave him a negative. People have said they thought that ITrader wasn't worth it but if I were to see some negative on a members, it may cause me to pause and rethink my transaction.

Escrow

I have only done outright purchases here on AZ and the net and in all cases have depended upon PayPal for protection, but if I were ever to do a trade I would definitely use an escrow service and if the other party refused to work through an escrow agent, that would be reason enough for me to walk.

Keep in mind that for the most-part we buy/sell manufactured items not one-of-a-kind works of art. The point being that at some point, another cue just like it will become available.

Yup I got it. I think you said but wasn't sure. All of the cues are straight correct? No roll in the shafts or butt? I know the Meucci is straight together and apart. I wasn't sure if we talked about 2 shafts for each cue that's why I asked.

Alright. So we are talking about the 3 cues on the glass table including the jump stick and OB shaft. I am assuming that the cues will come with 2 shafts each. Will the collars match with the Gold Joss on them? If so, lets do it.

I agree...and while I haven't done nearly as many transactions as some members on here, I will go out of my way to make sure they are 100% satisfied if I am a seller.

When in doubt, escrow, escrow, escrow!

This is what was agreed on

This is a picture of the cues that was agreed on.

Show some pics of the ones that you received please.

Pimp, a $20 Escrow on AZ saved my butt from $1800.00 worth of grief on a Scrgugs that was being sold here. Well worth it if a person is going to go that high on a cue.

I still lost a fair bit in USD exchange at the bank, but it wasn't 1800.

All because some person can't be honest.

he ended up digging junk out of his closet to give me.

Thanks for reminding me about some spring cleaning I need to do><
Last spring I threw away a warped Lucasi butt, a fiberglass cue, and a big old cue display cabinet that nobody wanted.
I've got to make some hard decisions on a couple of Cuetec butts someone game me.
Cuetec never made a matching replacement shaft for the jump/break, and the other one needs a wrap.
Who knew you could sell that crap on AZ><

I agree with the Esgrow idea now. I have done so many deals outside the AZ and have never been bitten like this. I honestly didnt know much about the whole esgrow deal and that is my fault. Ive had people contact me via text message and text message only on a cue I had listed on craigslist. We made the trade. Never had any issues till now. Some people just have no morals or a conscience

Blue Hog, the picture of what he sent is ust above your comment. There are 2 pics. The frst one is what he promised and the second is what he actually sent. Mind you the one in the middle is the one that is warped and f looking at the pic of the cues he sent, the one on the right is the cue I wasnt suppose to get and looks like he used the butt for batting practice.

I am not trying to defend this guy but I do not see where he states each cue has two shafts and that they roll straight. You asked but I don't see where he confirmed. Am I missing something.

***NEVERMIND*** I suck. I reread this and see where he said it now

The fact that the guy wouldn't send back the cue and take his stuff back, is a sure sign that he knows he shafted the guy.

Sorry. The way the email chain is set up, it is a bit hard to read sometimes. If you are looking at the bottom of that chain I have isolated my question to him and him answering. He says, "you got it, can you ship it overnight?"

I don't see him actually saying they had two shafts, he agreed to the deal and then he said they were straight. I don't actually see him say "Yes, they have two shafts", he artfully ignored that, but since it's a clear question asked twice, it should have been answered. The pics don't show the shafts either, although if the for sale listing did, they should have been sent.
