Jer, did you mean 4 parts Shellac and 1 part Denatured alcohol?
1 part of D.A. to thin out 4 parts of Shellac or two pints of DA to one gallon of Shellac.

I ment what I said, 4 parts of denatured alcohol, to 1 part of shellac. I'm THINNING IT. After my shafts have been finish sanded & burnished with leather, I use this mixture to seal the shaft. After 10 minutes, the sealer is dry & I LIGHTLY sand with 1500. Then I burnish again & apply a single drop of "YAK GLIDE" or "Q SILK" to a paper towel & wipe it onto the shaft...JER
