Seam on a leather wrap. . .

Is there a seam on a lether wrap I'm assuming this to be kind of done like a steering wheel only better. Can someone post a picture of the wrap seam on their custom cue? Also, are the seams stitched, glued or both?

How are you playing with the seam? Up, so you don't touch it, down so it adds grip or where ever?

There is definately a seam and it's glued in place with contact cement.

I've found that if the leather wrap is installed by someone who knows what he's doing you don't see it unless you look pretty hard. Also if done right you shouldn't notice/feel it when playing.

If you're looking to have one done, I know Mike Webb does a fantastic job. Having owned several of his cues in the past, most with leather wraps, I can honestly say he does one of the best.

I think I get it. The wrap is cut so it will perfectly butt together and then it is stretched with glue to make a near perfect seam?

I never feel the seam during play.

There will always be a seam. Hiding it is the trick.

These are all the "seam" side.

I have to compliment you on your picture. That was a nice seam and your picture makes it look like the grand canyon. LOL
Not bad for wrap #10.

The seams will always show. A perfect seam can only be seen if the light reflects off it at the right angle. These two pictures are the same cue. The first is in the perfect light to show the seam. The second is how it looks under normal light. Even if the seam is perfect the texture can't line up perfect.
