That is why I am in the Wanted for sale section and not cue gallery. My pictures are to big to fit in the standard envelope that is why I am asking people to e-mail me.I do not mind answering the e-mails because anyone who respects craftmanship and understands pool knows Dennis's cues are the best made and they are the one's interested anyway.Don't get me wrong there are great cuemakers out there, but if I was betting $5,000 a set I would want one of his cues because they play like a dream and I know it so that gives me the edge.TheBook said:Wouldn't it be easier to post the pictures?
I am sure a lot of the people requesting pictures are just curious and are not serious about buying.

Read the post, the guy is from japan!! Should be easier to deal locally wouldnt u think!iconcue said:what does lucky have to do with anything?![]()
he's in japan and as far as i know he doesn't even carry searings.
dak has had a lot of response and is not a fulltime cue dealer.
and he did ask for emails not pmails
I hope I haven't given the impression that I am unsatisfied with dak. I've never done business with him, however I've noticed that he's done some great deals with other member of this post, so I would assume that he's very professional.Poolhawk said:I've seen this seller at valley forge and even in person trying to get info is hard, like you cant get a straight answer if you know what i mean.Do your self a favor and stick with dealing with LUCKY,your better off,he's a better business man.His prices are even higher than lucky's

I understand there is some concern over me not posting prices. Here is a price first $12,150 takes all four delivered.Charlie Edwards said:I disagree. This forum is not an auction. And it shouldn't be. If someone has a cue for sale, what's wrong with letting us know the price?

dak started this thread offering to send pics to those that were interested. I posted that I was interested, but haven't recieved any pics. Which made me wonder if because of my location, are my offers/interest not being taken seriously? The reason I wonder is because I've located cues on websites of well known dealers (two of them members of this forum) and contacted both of them with offers with partial trades, to recieve nothing in form of a response. A "no thank you" would be a starting point for negotiations, but I haven't even been given the common courtesy of being considered a legitimate customer. Maybe my offers of a partial trade in didn't interest these guys, but that's fine, that's what I need to hear, then we can talk cash. I haven't even been given the opportunity. Which is why I will spend my yearly $15,000 on cues (about how much I bought last year) someplace else that I know will take me seriously.

iconcue said:then why don't you have prices on all the cues on your website?![]()
no harder to list a price than it is to set one
i don't particularly like the "make an offer" sale either but i don't dictate what others do to sell their cues. i would rather see "make an offer" than a broker site listing a cue as "personal collection". and i also see nothing wrong with using "the for sale / wanted forum" as an alternative to ebay to sell a cue. he wasn't asking for posted bids. he was asking for emails so it wouldnt have affected the forum one way or another.
Harder to send out all these pics to all these emails then try and figure out how to shrink a pic IMO... PM If you want to learn how to shrink pics.Dak21st said:That is why I am in the Wanted for sale section and not cue gallery. My pictures are to big to fit in the standard envelope that is why I am asking people to e-mail me.I do not mind answering the e-mails because anyone who respects craftmanship and understands pool knows Dennis's cues are the best made and they are the one's interested anyway.Don't get me wrong there are great cuemakers out there, but if I was betting $5,000 a set I would want one of his cues because they play like a dream and I know it so that gives me the edge.
Charlie Edwards said:I seldom deal with cue dealers, so I may really have the wrong take on listing prices on cues for sale. But I have a lot of experience buying from cuemakers.
A cuemaker gives a price up front, and the buyer can take it or leave it. But as far as listing prices, IMO dealers and sellers would be far better off listing what them want for the cue. The MAIN reason being the fact that most buyers think, as I do, that a non-listed price means that the cue cue is over priced. JMO. And wouldn't it save the sellers a lot of time if they only talked to buyer who knew the price beforehand and were really interested in buying the item?

it seem's like you are saying that you do not appreciate it when a private individual says "make me an offer" on a cue instead of asking a price and then negotiating.
but on the other hand you think people appreciate it when you list a cue as price on request and they have to call or email to get a quote.
what i was trying to communicate to you was i do not think people appreciate "price on request" either. and if you truly do have a "set price" why not list it? could it be because the price is not truly set but changes based on different variables?
i am not saying you are wrong for using "price on request" that is your decision to make. but i do think "price on request" is a pain! just like i think "make me an offer" is a pain.
and i have never understood the "personal collection" thing. i could see displaying personal collection cues on a page by themselves - but find it somewhat of a tease and akin to "make me an offer" when listed among the cues that are for sale.
