Don't sweat it. 1proscoe, likes to cause trouble, he suffers from inferiority complex, and has nothing better to do. If you actually saw the guy in person, you'd laugh.

Yes, I have had numerous messages about this. I am now calmed down and am actually quite amused with it. I am just sorry that it did cause a stir on someone elses thread. I can tell you I wont do THIS again..lol:thumbup:

One more thing Dennis is pretty serious about not selling cues for resale. With the price on this one. After speaking to Dennis recently in regards to buying a cue. I would guess that he is somewhat disappointed by someone offering one of his cues up for a ridiculous profit. Just my opinion.

That's funny because Dennis said just the opposite on the recent TAR interview at the ICCS show. He said something to the effect that he wished he had a little more for the cues but it wasn't a big deal because it meant that he would always have business.

Edited to add that what one says in an interview is not always exactly how they feel on a subject. I thought Dennis' interview was full of interesting other information and a wonderful insight into the mind of a great cue maker.

I also don't think we should concern ourselves with how much profit someone is making on a cue. Until they sell it they don't have any profit and it's also just what the market will bear. Searing's happen to be in low supply and high demand. Dennis himself said he could fix that by being less "research and development" oriented and more "production" oriented.

Thanks everyone for all your input. I have chosen a Searing cue, 4 points with inlays. I think he will like it. My friend that knows cues has been in contact with this particular person that has this cue and I am going to pay him to drive to Brentwood Ca to inspect it and if all is ok purchase this cue. Again, this is for a Christmas gift to him and thank you all for all your help. I have banned him from logging onto here unless I am with him because we have 2 custom cues being made for us and we need to keep in contact with the cuemaker. So if you see him online, tell him he is a Scrooge and his butt s mine and I will just keep this cue and play with it on my womens league

Man, I feel really lucky now. I bought 2 Searings from a guy in Brentwood Cali 2350.00 cheaper than this 1 Searing. And 1 of them has a few more inlays than this one. If I was selling a cue for that much, id at least have good pictures to go along with that steep price tag.

It appears that Brentwood Ca. is the place to find Searings..

I am all for people making money while doing their business, and I am not an expert on Dennis Searing I did find him to be extremely knowledgeable and very innovative in his explanation of how he tests his shafts and his overall approach to cue building. I have actually never seen one of his cues in person but somehow I have no doubt that they are very fine, well made cues, however when I spoke to him he expressed that he wanted his cues available to players and really felt me out as to whether or not my intentions were to resale or play with the cue. In the email that I sent as I description of how I wanted the design I actually gave my word that I was buying the cue to play with not profit from. AGAIN I AM SPECULATING I DON'T HAVE ALL THE FACTS but IF this cue was bought under the SAME TERMS that I received when I was ordering mine then this is an in justice to Dennis Searing....... I hope that is not the case. I am bowing out of this thread because it really is none of my business how someone else conducts their business.

Dennis asked me the same thing when I ordered my cue from him.

He really wanted to make sure that I was not going to flip the cue.
