Joss, jacoby, pechauer, predator or custom?

Hi guys, I just want to know what would be your choice, the best bang for the buck (200-300$ range):

Joss 200 serie pool cul jos-sj-01
http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/joss/joss_sj-01.htm

Pechauer Jp series jc01
http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/pechauer/pechauer_pool_cue_jc01.htm

Pechauer pro serie P02
http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/pechauer/pechauer_pool_cue_p02.htm

Jacoby

Predator Sneaky (wrap or no, wood or ss joint)
http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/predator/predator_sp4rw.htm

I look a lot in to cue and i ended up with this 5 models but:

-I really not sure about the big 13.25 tip size of the joss.

-I really like that you can order every pechauer with custom choice of ''tipe size'' but not sure about there ''speed joint''

-I Always ear good thing about all Jacoby stuff and this one seem like a nice deal.

-I want to try the predator shaft but i'm not sure i will like it, so it's a guess to take.

-Right now, I play with a stainless joint, maybe because it's a cheap cue but i think i would prefer the feedback ''feeling'' of a wood to wood joint or something like phenolic.

-Is there a big of difference between Pechauer Jp serie et pro serie?

I got an custom cue option but at 450-500 with a ld shaft but i think for a first ''good'' cue I should buy something cheaper and find what I like most (joint style, tip size, ... and buying better in a couple of year)

So all is there, what you guy thing?

All price in poll include shipping, I live in canada so the cue need to me MADE in USA if I don't wan to pay duty!

Hey guys... 75 views and only 4 have an opinion on this?

I wan a true opinion, the more of you vote the best opinion I will have, the better choice I will make (I can't try the cue before buying it)

I'm surprise to see no vote for the jacoby, a lot of people on this forum seem to like them... maybe they don't vote?

If u can, take the time to let me know why you think which one is the best choice, if you don't have the time, at least let me know you're choice!

I know it's not the more interesting subject but it could help me make the best choice!

Thank in advance to all for you'Re time!

I'll do the driving you just send money??

Jacoby makes cues for about 12 other cuemakers. I had them rebuild a broken cue with New shaft ,forearm, wrap refinish new shaft. 500. was my cost not for sale ,just example. It was a schon ltd form like 1990. Called my magic cue. You will get the best wood -shaftwood esp. and it's custom to your spec's. I know of several New cues in a glass case, from a cue collection- 2 of Them they have rifles in dark wood, birdseye. asking 600 neg. I think. Here's another option a New cue from 2000 from the 25th silver anniversery Hubler collection. 365. I know of a woman on az who wanted 700-800 for a turquise schon from early 90's. I still might buy. Ther's Varney and Joey in California, theres soo many options. hope this helps. I own 50 cues mostly all customs. Check out( Koinnkid) his name is troy he sells wholesale and has many limited additions from many makers. Tell him I sent you- look first on his site for widow shopping. mark

I will not vote on your poll becase this is all subjective.
My suggestion is that you should get your hands on some of these. I hope you know a few people who own them. The only way to tell is to hit with them.
Personally, if they all play the same, why not get the cheapest?
However, I am sure when you start to shoot with these you will understand why one cue cost more than another.

Best recommendation is to get a used cue to start off with.

Ok Ill play...

My choice- get a used Schon - but that Jacoby is a good deal.

Is French your first langue? What are you getting? go to your local room and see if anyone is selling anything and test hit some cues.

Good Luck.

Go with Performance!

People always say if you have 1000.00 dollars why buy production, buy a custom cue.I say why buy a custom cue,buy a production. With Predator ,Mezz, and Schon you've got all you need and more and you take the guessing work out of it.The fit, finish, playability is balls on with these cues. Some of the designs may not be the best but there's enough to choose from. With a custom ,you've got some great makers but all with there own style, finish, and quality.Proof is in results used by many and at the end of the day we all know what most guys end up hitting the ball with.PREDATOR!Even most guys that have a custom built still have a custom predator shaft lurking around in there bag. With a couple hundred dollars grab a Predator sneaky, great cue for the cash.Goodluck:)

I got my predator 5k2 for 400 bucks out the door brand new with a Z2 shaft from a local dealer. Comes with the predator warrantee and everything.

If you ask around sometimes they have a bunch of the last year models for dirt cheap, my local shop has a bunch of 5k's for sale and could have gotten into the 300 dollar range for the 5k1 but liked the look of the 5k2 better.

Also if you test hit a few balls at your local shop and find a cue you love you can always offer a little less then their listed price, but that's just me I don't like paying more then I have to for anything.

Best cue for the price range IMO would be a pj custom. Find a maker that has alot of good feedback and ask around. There are alot of good cues out there in that price range. If I were you I'd be looking for and Olney or a very low end Gilbert. Best bang for the buck.

thank all but i already order a custom cue !

Yes my first language it's french i am from quebec!
