SECOND TRY Balabuska or not

There is a darn good reason to get it authenticated...

Like I said the Cue is NFS, not for Sale.. Owner is keeping it, if i had it I would play with it almost everyday....:p

It probably woudn't be a bad idea for your friend to send the cue to Tascarella anyway. That way, at least he would know what he has for sure.

Let me just say this. This could be a valuable cue, or a not-so-valuable cue, but there is a good reason besides money to get the cue authenticated.

Let's say the owner were to give the cue to as a gift to his grandchild or nephew and tells them it's a real Balabushka. For 20 years the kid thinks he's got a $6,000 or $8,000 Balabushka and tells the whole world because he's proud of it. Turns out the cue is not one because it was misrepresented.

The reason why I say this is because this nearly identical scenario happened to one of my web site visitors, and I was unfortunately the one who said "it's not what you think". The meaningful gift suddenly became a not-so-meaningful gift, tarnishing the whole memory. It created a lot of disappointment and hurt.

Chris is right. For a few beans, it is worth having it authenticated or denied.

IMHO, its silly not to.

I'd like to put in my $155 bid.....no Fritos, but I'll also include a Chattanooga staple....a Moon Pie !!!

Nice cue, and I would certainly get it authenticated.

I always find that the "old" bushka hit is an acquired taste... not somethng that u wuld appreciate at first hit..

Well this has been a very informative thread for me, and I appreciated all the comments as I live in an are where many Old Folk have come to Retire & Die. They bring with them all of there processions, and than the day come when they have Garage & Estate Sales. i am always on the look out for Old pool cue, and this thread have given me some information should i run upon a REAL BALA.

Looking forward to me new weekend of Garage Sales....

Like i said the Cue i posted photos of has a VERY UNIQUE Hit, and make a very DEEP RESIDENT SOUND LIKE A DEEP THUD, not a Pink, but a the Thud of a cue Ball being hit by a Slow moving Heavy Semi Truck.
:D
