SECOND TRY Balabuska or not

Well a friend has a Very Old Cue he says is a Balabuska, the Cue has No Makers Marks, Logo, Signature or anything ELSE that say Blasbuska.

But I have had the OPPORTUNITY to hit with the Cue, and it HITS like Nothing else I have ever hit Pool Ball with. The Hit is Unique, and FEELS GREAT.

The Cue as you can from so snap shot I took has (2) Shafts, but one is about .75-1.0 inches Shorter than the other. Ferrules are Ivory.

I am hoping some of you all can look at the pictures below and tell me if the Cue is a Balabuska or just another OLD Cue?

Photo album; http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/poolsleuth/album?.dir=/eb8d

FYI the Wrap appears to be Irish linen, and appears to have been coated with like some Lacquer or something.
;)

I like everything but the bumper and butt cap. So I will gladly pay 150.00 on a gamble :)

Well first off, You'll not find anyone who can positively authenticate this cue, especially with just the pictures. I was once subpoened to court as an expert witness on such cues, but I don't claim to know any more than a lot of the collectors and enthusiasts here. The only thing I noticed from the pictures that is not correct is the bumper, which should have been brown instead of black. Of course it's entirely possible that the bumper was lost or worn out and replaced, so that really means nothing. If you're really serious about getting the cue "authenticated", Pete Tascerella would be the best person to send it to, but even he can only express an opinion. There were more copies made than originals and some of them were done well enough to fool about anyone. Without provenance, it's hard to be sure. And very few of Georges cues had any markings.

Just more hot air!

Joe

Maybe I'll give you an offer like I get all the time

Hey, I offer to trade the Predator First edition on the site and a bag of chips, for that cue. It can't possibly be a Bushka because his name ain't on it. :D

Well the Cue belongs to a Gentleman who is in his EARLY 70's is an Active Player/Instructor. Do not think it is For Sale. I got to hit with it as I said, and Shot some photos to share.

Like I said the Cue has a Very GREAT Hit, and the only thing I have ever hit with the HAD A SIMILAR hit was a Cue with a Very Old Cold Water Shaft of Maple that was like a Watered Down Coffee Color Shaft, that the normal whitish colored Maple most Shafts are before you get em dirty...:)

How long is the BUTT? How long are the shafts? What are the dimensions at the joint, above the wrap, below the wrap and at the end of the butt cap? Is the butt full or short splice? Plse supply an xray of the butt and the owners name so I can decide if I want to persue it. Thanks

If the buttcap and bumper are original to the cue, then it's not a Balabushka. Did he get it this way from a private party?

wasnt it heublers that used to seal over their wrap like that? i know this guy who has an old heubler.. kinda like that and the wrap is sealed over.. not nowhere as much as meucci.. but sealed and you can still feel the wrap though the thin layer of laquer or whatever they used.. but i am no expert on these things..

Well than for all who post there thought on weather or not the Cue was a Balabuska or not. Like I said the Cue is a SWEET HITTER, and if it was offered me for sale for a reasonable price I would use it as a Player.

Could the Cue be a Balabuska is the question? Apprently not....

Look I want to make some money...

How about 5-10k wager, send me the cue, the other person (bettor) and I will bring the cue to Tascarella, if its a Bushka, I win if not, you win.

Like I said the Cue is NFS, not for Sale.. Owner is keeping it, if i had it I would play with it almost everyday....:p

Definitely not a Huebler. Huebler has always used 5/16x18 flat-faced, and the pics clearly indicate a piloted joint. As well, I've never seen a Huebler with only silver trim rings.
