I would like to go a little further with the restrictions of information shared in this part of the forums. Perhaps this area should only be available to proven cue makers with a
gold membership and verified (brick and mortar)business address and tax number. That may weed out some of these lowly hobbyists and let the pros have open discussions
without fear of reveling any secrets.

Good idea, they'll have a handshake that only they'll know

Remember, people's live are at stake
I agree, must be tough trying to sell 3.50 Jp studs for a living when people don't want to promote your business

This place already exists, no need for a duplicate here.

This is the cue machinery and supplies section. I think.

I think it is pretty simple.... If one wants to share advice, secrets, etc, they can and will. If they do not, they won't. Many folks come here looking for help as they want to, or think they want to, build cues. I own 3 businesses and enjoy the cue building as a hobby. I have built less than 10 cues and have not sold a single one. So I am not going into the cue building as a career.... I needed help and came here and got it. Still do need it. I appreciate everyone that has helped me when I needed it.... Just because I don't want to build cues for a living, doesn't mean I should not be allowed to get info or help when I need it..... If one is worried that someone will take business from them, they need to step up their game and let their cue building speak for itself....

I have seen and met the pool cue builders secret agents.................... hahahahahaha

Hey guys! I'm super cool I'm just like a pro. I have a lathe and stuff, I do all the super secret hard stuff on cues like tips and ferrules, even wraps. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just sayin I totally deserve a secret decoder ring when you give all the stupid wannabes and so called hobbyists the boot. Cause I know some stuff and don't worry I don't tell anybody my secrets. I mean if you have the same books as me and Google you might maybe could find them but I've already said too much. This message should secretly self destruct. #00wannabe
