Self leveling pool table

I played pool on a cruise once it was quite funny the balls were rolling all over the place. Eventually I just said F'it and got drunk it made playing on the table a lot more fun.

I think this table would make me feel like I was drunk.

What they need is a self leveling platform around the table so the players auto level with the table. I'm sure a bit of an oversight on the design.

I didn't see any of the balls rolling in this video. One would think as you point out that they would be rolling all over the place. You could get dizzy watching or playing this.

A much better idea.

Is it just me, or does the cloth look a little slow? And what about those sticks? I've never been on a cruise ship, but always assumed that really big ones don't rock at all. Am I wrong here, or is this a smaller ship?

I was wondering about that as well. The ajustments it seemed to be making appeared to be huge ... maybe they were in the perfect storm, lol. It also might be why the play seemed so poor. :p

Any self-leveling platform wouldn't always be level with the surrounding floor. So the idea would only work until someone isn't looking where they're walking, falls backward off the platform and splits their head open. They probably didn't even need the lawyers to tell them that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

You are right, this is a very small ship, either that, or they are in some fricken high seas...cuz here's a 1,000 foot long royal Caribbean ship table and you'll see it ain't moving like that. I video'd some folks trying to play pool, lol. I would throw up on the ship pictured in OP's post.

This video I posted is from the jewel of the seas....and as I understand, virtually all of royal carribean ships are equipped with them, who knows who else has them.
Can't wait til jan ...going on the freedom of the seas!!! I love me some cruising :-)

Imagine giving a very serious classical music concert on a stage under such conditions! The piano going up while your hand is traveling into the key at unpredictable angles and speeds could break fingers. I actually gave some concerts like that and am happy that I still have my hands. Interesting experiment though...

They look to me to be the same table on the same ship. Exact same design on the sides of the table, down to the brass squares on the sides by the corners. Same parquet floor too.

Yes, it's the same ship. I've been on a large ship during a bad storm. It's amazing how much it sways. The kids were obviously having fun with the table during a bad storm.

I taught pool on Royal Carribean ships

The tables cost $75,000 a piece several years ago and we're amazing. We were in 15 foot seas the ship was rolling but the balls didn't move. I made several trips on the four Royal Carribean ships as a pool instructor, never seen the tables lean the slightest bit !:D

I was just on RC Jewel of the Seas in June. I played on those tables. We hit some swells, the bar closed, some glasses fell but those pool balls stayed right where they stopped after I broke!

Amazing technology...
