Sending my cue back to meucci (known black hole) for cues.

Spoke with one of the new owners of Meucci Cues while I was at the SBE this past April. When I asked about refinishes/repairs, he said that was one of their focus areas for the team and the new owners. He stated...'simple repairs and refinishes" should take but a few weeks (3-4). One thing that was emphasized was to include clear instructions or instructions for that matter to accompany the cue, so they know what was expected of them.
They told me they would see to it to have it done within one business day. It got to them today. We will see.

You mean like 'please don't fk up or kidnap my cue' kind of instructions?? ;)

Well, I believe we should give the new owners a chance to prove themselves before we group them in with the previous owners. To be fair after speaking to other cue makers in the past, they've all said..."you would be surprised how many cues I get mailed into the shop with no instructions as to what they want done. Not to mention no contact number to call back so, they just wait until they get the call.

Well figured I would provide update. My cue got stuck for an extra week in the postal system. Go figure. They had my cue for about a week or so I sent an email asking for update. Person responded same day saying get my cue back out to me ASAP and I got a tracking number today that a label was created. We will see what it looks like when it comes. All in all pretty swift turn around. Hopefully they did good work on the wrap job.

Update time boys. I sent my cue back to make the wrap uncoated as I requested when I ordered. I sent the cue back on 5-5-2023. Received the cue this afternoon 6-2-2023.

It did take one week to get to them due to weather issues via post office. So subtract that they hady cue for around 3 weeks. I ordered my cue from budget billiards which is still ran by Bob's daughter from my understanding post buy out.

When I sent the cue back I was promised a one day turn around time. That obviously didn't happen. This was a reply back to me when I asked what was holding up my cue.

"We are currently confronted with several challenges arising from the new ownership at Meucci. Regrettably, the owners have implemented a policy preventing our visits to the factory, even though our location is a mere three miles away. While they acknowledged their role in the error, they ignored the shipping label to expedite the process, which they inexplicably disregarded and proceeded to ship the item to our premises instead. Their justification for this action is that they do not engage in drop shipping. We still await the arrival of the shipment containing your cue.

Apologies for this inconvenience and delay!
Julia"

Sounds like there is tension with budget and meucci but to be fair it sounds like the amount of people allowed into the shop where work is done is being limited. That may equate to less lost cues.

At the end I got my cue back no dings dents etc. It's my favorite shooting cue I own, especially when playing on diamond bar boxes for league. I am preferring this over my predator, joss and mezz cues. Joss and Mezz are top notch quality and something about the hit just feels a cut above which I was not expecting.

I did ask for a set of joint protectors for the inconvenience. They sent me a second bumper instead, lol

Sounds like a win to me. You got your cue back which is a new thing for Meucci . And a new bumper. You can find Jp’s online or maybe right here in the wanted section.

I'd go buy quite lottery ticket just because ha ha , sadly I'm still a bit gun shy after my last experience dealing with Meucci and even with Fed X darn sure didn't do me any favors .

The vibe I get is the new owner is tightening the ship. I want to see meucci succeed. It's an American company. Why Bob stopped giving a shit is beyond me. I think meucci will have a bright future with a new leader. I heard there were times the employees weren't getting paid on time etc. That definitely makes employees not give a shit either. Interested to hear from others over the next few months. If it's positive I'll drop the coin on a casino.

I sent two packages at the same time to two different addresses both were literally destroyed but , arrived with the contents intact , nearly 3 weeks later had I known that would happen I'd of sent myself instead I'd love to see the places my cues were sent too ha ha
These were sent on a Tuesday so they should've gotten there faster than that .

I'm glad your experience was better than mine was !

Great news...very happy for you.

How do they handle payment(s)? Prior to or after the work is completed?
