I just showed you two shots. And the second one is what ur asking already look at pictures again brother.....you keep asking about overlaps Larry I'm telling you to stop looking at that my boy. You need to worry about that point. These tight cuts you can see overlaps and obviously you can use them but if you. Are aligning correctly which is we're we really aim....it's of no consequence as to the overlap you see. I'm trying to teach you all to use your darn cue and some just keep talking about the balls. I can't make it any clearer than to say this is why many struggle. Aiming boulders ain't the same and has nothing to do with the method. Remove it from your brain please.

One thing that may help some is forget the QB.
Put an OB on the spot. Place your stick in the kitchen directly inline with the OB.
Aim your stick, either center, left or right at the sharp ">" on the other side of the OB. You can see right away that if the cue hit that ">" that the OB would not be pocketed.
Move your body either right or left until you see a ">" that if hit would pocket the ball in one of the corner pockets of your choice.
If you have never explored stick aiming thru the QB this may be difficult for you to see.
Don't give up. Its a good method.

had the object ball on the foot spot and the q ball on the head spot
made the shot
while we were talking i kept the ob ball on the foot spot
and moved the q ball to where i would usually shoot a spot shot
did my aiming from the pat point
forgot about how i would usually aim
AND MADE THE SHOT....
.....
cant say i am a convert but i am willing to put more table time into it to test/try it out

Plenty have contacted me personally without even getting me on video or seeing them and just walked me through over the phone. If I can teach a method over the phone, what does that say about it at a minimum?

Keebie is right, this is not complicated. In fact it's pretty obvious once the method is brought to your attention.
Use what ever aiming method you use to pocket an OB, once down and ready to shoot glance down at the back shadow point and see how it aligns with your cue shaft, right, middle or left. Thats all there is to it.
Pretty simple, but if you don't know, ya just don't know.
On very thin cut shots, there are two shadows, one dark and one light aim at the light one.
Over time you will find yourself double checking your aiming method with the shadow method to confirm the QB path.

That's a good question you raised. If you use, say, Dr. Cue's X-bank system or my triangle system for banks, after identifying the point on the rail where the object ball must strike... you have to cut the object ball to that spot.
Same with a kick... the cue ball must hit a rail target akin to an object ball target.
