I had some work done on my cue and I was less than satisfied. I had my shaft cleaned and tip replaced.

The shaft cleaning wasn't what I expected as he took the varnish off. This, I don't mind although I wish he had let me know this is what he had planned. End result...... Feels Great so <font = Borat> Great Success </End font>

The tip however, came off after an hour of play. Looking at the tip, it only shows a small circle of glue around the outside. Not so great of a success.

South Park, LOL....

He should be more than willing to fix it.......talk to him....if he is respectful and apologizes, let him make it right.....if he's a jerk, don't let him touch your cue and take it to someone else.....then post his name here so we can all throw internet rocks at him :D

What brand of shaft do you have? Do you know what the ferrule material is? I find a lot of tip problems come from the "repairman" not knowing his ferrule materials. Phenolic ferrules will take normal glues, but the waxy plastic style ferrules (Predator, Viking) need a superglue applied to them.

Was the shaft finished up to the ferrule?

It was a Viking. this is good information, thanks.

Being a person that does tip and shaft work. I would want anybody that is not happy to come back and let me know. All you have is your rep and I try to protect it.

I myself guarantee all of my work. I make sure that all of my customers know that if something should happen, I will fix it. I haven't had a tip pop off in a long time, but it still makes the customers feel better. Good rep for the business also.

Bring it back to him and give him a chance to make it right. If he won't, then you know to deal with someone else that stands behind their work.
