shaft coring

Ive noticed that over the last fewyears some shafts are being made with a phenolic or graphite core. What Im referring to is the G core Mcdermott and the I3Shaft for example. Most of these rods seem to be around a quarter of an inch in diameter. My question is are these rigid or flexible. Ive seem graphite rods and tubes on Ebay that seem to be what Im looking for but if they are flexible then whats the point. I would assume the object is to make the cue more rigid. Thanks for any opinions and if anyone is using these your comments are appreciated.

i ask that question about 5 years ago

the only answer i got was a smartass, he said, well you will NEVER see one of those shafts on one of my cues.

so, i am sorry i do not know the answer, but if you going to try anything different, you might get talked to as if you were a child.

I Think DZ was doing some interesting things with fiberglass rods. More for the purpose of a stiffer thin tapered shaft than any ld properties. I would ask Bob.
