"Shaft Freeze"

My booth at the US Open will be open this afternoon to check out the new shaft coating "Shaft Freeze". Larry Brown is running my booth till I get there Friday with the new coating to sell. All the jump shaft have the new coating along with the new built cues.

I hope to see a lot of you AZers at the Open Friday. It is funny how I debut the Sledgehammer at this tournament, and now the new Gulyassy ferrule/tip and the "Shaft Freeze" will also make it's first appearance at this tournament. The only thing wrong with all this is that I have been promising myself I would play in this event until I could not play anymore but work has not let this happen. I love playing pool.

It is confirmed. I will be at the US Open with "Shaft Freeze for sale. It will cost $40.00 for the ready measured bottles and $10.00 for a spray applicator. This will be all you need to do several shafts.

Shaft Freeze will adhere to about any material. It will stick to fiberglass and carbon fiber if they are sanded first. About the only material that it will not stick to is Stainless Steel and Delrin.

wow sounds like it would be a good tack coat before painting the cue.what is the viscosity?

also if the cue gets dinged, will the dings come out with the sealer on the shaft?

What will the shelf life be, before opening, and after?

Thanks,
Rodney
Shelf life is a year. The product comes in two parts and the catalyst will go bad the more it is exposed to air so quantity selection is important. I personally use it everyday so I use the quarts mainly.
The 2 ounce kit will more than likely be used in one application so shelf life on the larger amounts is the real question. I have used a gallon container of these products and almost used the entire amount before it became unusable, there was maybe 4 ounces left I discarded. I used it for about a month, but like I said air will cause the catalyst to go bad. I am working to make containers that are more cue maker friendly.

I will give you better products for the butt at a later date, the Shaft Freeze is better for the shafts. A tack coat it is absolutely not.

I was thinking this coating may be a good idea for ferrulless shafts, providing extra protection against splitting while at the same time avoiding the bluing of the wood where the ferrule normally is.

You would have to experiment with this application.

what about de-dinging the finished shafts.
The ding will come out with heat and steam, and a little touch of sandpaper but to much removal of the Shaft Freeze will expose the bare wood.

There is a product that I will be selling soon that is about half of the price of the Shaft Freeze that will be perfect for your application with your finish. I will have more on this next week after I get back from the open. There is a world of new finishing products coming soon.

The viscosity is 16 to 17 seconds add mix.

How was the response to the shaft freeze at the open? Any AZers get to try it out?
There was one response by all that felt it and that was WOW.

do you have a website we can buy this product or do you just take orders here? also, is it fine for predator shafts?

It is awesome on Predators and OB1. I would suggest sending it to me to insure proper application. I have been using this product for a long time and have the proper techniques to apply it. I do have the product for sale but there is a $25.00 Hazmat fee by UPS (the cheapest) along with shipping and special packaging so the material will be expensive to ship. It is available to buy at Axon 864-299-2819 or send me the shaft.
