Shaft recommendations

Hi all, I’ve recently acquired a Schon STL-1 and am looking for an aftermarket shaft for it. I tried a Jacoby Edge Hybrid on it a week ago and it felt better than the standard shaft. I’ve been playing with a Mezz EC7 with a WX700 shaft for the past 5 months and really like how it plays. I’m considering getting a matching WX700 for the Schon but are there other shafts I should consider as well? I’m looking for something that would feel the same as the Mezz. I’m not looking at carbon fibre.

Thanks in advance

If you are planning to keep and play with both cues from time to time, it would be smart to have the same shaft for both of them.

I actually like the standard maple shafts that come on my Schons and play with them from time to time; however, I normally have a 30" OB Pro+ on my SP and a 29" Jacoby Ultra Pro on the LTD cue.

If you like the Mezz WX700, you might want to try out the WX900...I own about 6 of these in various lengths because it is my favorite shaft of all time! (also have an EX-Pro and two WX700s, but prefer the 900 of these)

Have you considered the new Sigma shaft from Mezz. Great feel, nice taper and very low deflection

what is this stigma new mezz shaft, is it the replacement of hp II? or is it a new invention, if it is what is the thickness and taper, is it a pro taper?

It's a new shaft from Mezz, no carbon fibre core, all maple and with a ferrule similar to the deep impact break shaft. 12.5mm tip diameter and a very nice taper, similar to the Mezz all maple shaft.

Of the wooden shafts, Predator 314-3 works best for me, followed closely by Jacoby EH and OB Pro+.

I have switched to Jacoby Black CF, though. It clearly beats the above three for me (especially on under half ball cut shots with side) and does not make that horrible “ding” sound that Revo is infamous for.
