i have noticed watching Earl and Shane that they look at the position of their bridge hand on the cue before getting down on the shot. What do you think they are doing ?

I'd guess focusing on something to keep from worrying about something else. Like focusing on breathing to calm down and bring focus to where it's needed.

You're asking what is going thru Earl's mind??? I really don't think that's a road we need to be traveling. Seriously? Just a last min check before firing. They might not even know they're doing it. Kinda like the waggle before a golf swing.

There is something about their bridge or their placement on the cue that the focus is going to. Also Shane does that before his break shot.
