Earlier today I read a great article over i think BD about Shane and his background from a kid all the way til today. It was a great read, and filled in some blanks about SVB I was wondering about.

My question is this....where/when/how did the guys from TAR, and Shane meet up? was it a life long school buddy thing?, or did they butt heads gambling and become friends?....or was it survival of the South Dakota winter pool players? I visited my Broher in Mott North Dakota in the winter a few years back....not a fun trip!:D

let us all know TAR/Shane.....thanx,

I met Shane last year at the Reno Open. I had heard about him and people I knew had mentioned he was a solid player who liked action and was very honest.

I introduced myself and told him that if he was going to get into anything I would be interested in putting something in the middle. One thing led to another and I now consider him a friend. The next month when Derby rolled around I was hanging out with Shane and met Nasty through him.

For most of last year I was at most of the pro events and traveled with Shane to a few of them...I was lucky enough to see first hand the start of his fantastic run.

Chad has known Shane for years so when TAR got off the ground it was natural for us to try and get Shane involved in the matches. We couldn't ask for a better representive of the type of events we try to put on. That goes for all of the players who have worked with us. We are proud to be associated with each and everyone of them.

While we are on the subject I have a funny Shane story. It happened at the UPA Tour Championships in LA back in March. I was eating with a photographer/writer and Shane stopped by and talked to me for awhile. When he left, the guy I was eating with who knows his way around the industry says "Who is that?" I said "That kid is going to win the U.S. Open one day. You should watch him. He is a beast." True story.

Who knew it would only take 6 months?

Shane has had a hell of a year and he has worked harder than most realize for it. I congratulate him for all he has achieved and thank him for his friendship and for working with us to try and do exciting things for the game.

When will Shanes next action challenge be and also Dannys?Maybe that could play and all around against eachother. :)

We are working on both. It is ridiculously hard to get these things set in stone. Danny and Shane will both defend their titles. When a match is locked up we will let everyone know.

Believe me noboby is more anxious than we are :D

We have something interesting in store for both of them.

People have to remember that we can't "make" or "have" these guys do anything. They work WITH us not FOR us.

Any match that we do, someone, is going to lose money and one of the players gets no immediate compensation. It is not the easiest sale in the world believe me. You have to have everything under the sun line up to get one of these things to go off.

We could just put up $2k and say "Play" but that is not action and that is not what we are about. So we just have to keep working and juggling until things come together. They will come together, and when we do make an announcement it will be after money is posted and all the details are worked out.

I know it sucks not knowing whats coming but just stick with us. You will have fun I promise. :D

Yeah i can understand that,I dont think Danny would want to play Shane 10 ball but maybe an all around 9 ball,1pocket,and maybe 8 ball or straight would be cool and Danny might have a good chance in that type of format.

Thanks for filling in the info JCIN. Listening to you all at the Derby, I got the impression you guys have known eachother for a long time.

I for one am glad to have been around in the begining of TAR, because I do see what you guys do as a very big part of what might be the future of pool online. Just like online poker got everyone in action sitting in thier living rooms, you guys let us all see a world we might not be able to get to see sitting right on my couch!:D

Hey, when are the Scott Townsend T-shirts coming out? Isn't there gonna be one that sais "I've never lost, I just ran outta money!" ? put me down for one!
