It was nice to see American players finish 1st and 2nd in a tough international field on Floridian soil in Jacksonville!! Cliff hasn't booked such a nice high finish in awhile, and Shane is certainly on his way to the top!

I agree. Cliff is so solid sometimes and with Shane I feel something really special is happening there.

i would bet that if ten ball stays popular, you will begin to see cliff's name at the top again more often, ten ball favors the players who move well, and obviously from his one pocket play, we all know he moves as good as anyone! and shane seems to be a solid player no matter who he plays, both gentlemen are a class act!

Cliff Joyner

Hi Doc,

I agree 100%. Shane and Cliff are both world class talents as well as fine people. I'd also like to congratulate Stevie Moore. He's another American player on the rise.

And they are all good ole boys from the South. Cliff and Stevie from Atlanta...and Shane from South Dakota :D .

I agree Doc, but I have to be honest. I would never have picked Joyner to finish so high. I can't help but think of him as a 1 pocket specialist. He's never been a force in the 9 ball or 14.1 tournaments, rare as those are. He does play great 9 ball and very good 8 ball on the 7 footers. It would be nice to see how far he can go if he dedicated himself to playing in more tournaments.

As for Shane VanBoening, he does look like the total package. He has nerves of steel and seems like he's on a mission. Reminds me of how John Schmidt came to the top. First got his pedigree in gambling match ups and sort of weaned into the tournament scene. I think he's a major part of America's "next generation" of greats.

Hey Walt,

Thanks for the clarification. I was refering to his place of residence now. I knew Cliff when he lived in NC. Stevie was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, and only moved to Atlanta a couple of years ago, but I put his residence in Atlanta as well.

My point was that they are Southern gentlemen and outstanding players.

Apology for Cliff

Hey Cliff, if you're out there, I gotta little ticked off when we played on the barbox a while back over shooting the next ball after the spot ball. If I did make an a$$ out of myself, hope the 'pology accepted. Hell, I was just happy to be up a little. Someone pass it on for me. By the way, guys, he's from Rocky Mount, NC.
