posting anything about statistics or mathematical variance, etc... is a moot point for the most part on here.
The collective IQ of these idiots isn't enough to comprehend the FACT that short races and alternate breaks level the playing field and doesn't lend itself to finding the best player. It baffles me that people don't understand this. My 7 year old daughter can even understand it.
Could you get your facts straight before being so aggressive?
Shane played in 3 10-Ball WPA World Championships (2008, 2009, 2011) were the races were 9, then 11 and 13 in the final, so comparable to the US Open this year.
He placed 9th (2008), 65th (2009), and 17th (2011).
Can your 7-year old get that?
Now I can't be bothered to search for the rest but there are no such thing as race to 7, alternate break all the way for a world title. There simply has never been.
The fact that Shane hasn't won a World title is clearly a matter of time. He says himself that he needs to travel in a better, organized, way and not get hit by jetlag and such things. This year, I believe he did that and was very close with two quarter-finals.
So yes, he has never won an official, sanctioned, WPA title where all the world is represented unlike Johnny or Earl who won a bunch of these while still playing good in the US in their prime.
He has won the Dragon Promotion 10-Ball event that the WPA didn't sanction, which was played on Olhausen tables with pockets bigger than you can imagine. But then again, a lot of big names were at that event (Orcollo, Bustamante, to name a few) and Shane came out on top.
The ideal scenario for me, would be that a WPA World Title would be played in the US again. I'm sure this would give Shane the boost he needs to go all the way
