So Shane's hitting balls at Stix Billiards in Rancho Cucamonga Ca. I guess he was here last night.

My question is would I seem to nitty if I offered him the 7 ball in a short set, or do I need to give up more weight. I play about APA 7 speed in 9 ball. Maybe 8 speed. ;)

I'm no judge of these things, but an APA 6 friend of mine played about 2.5 hours with Mike Dechaine recently, and he told me that he did plenty of racking.... ;)

I think that whatever you offer Shane, if he feels like playing, it probly wont be enough. Just a guess. Good luck! :D

(Enjoy the time, though. My friend said he had a blast playing with Mike, even if he wasn't shooting much.)

Oh, so you think I would need the weight? Interesting... I just got a new glove, and some kamui chalk. I've been hitting them pretty good...

I asked how little he would play for last weekend, and he said $50 a game one pocket, so we settled on a race to 3 for $100. Ask his minimum, and make an offer for a set playing 9ball. Get the breaks if you have a good break.

I'm just kidding guys. I know better. I was being sarcastic. I just made the thread in case anyone wanted to come on up.

I still think its cool if ya get a chance to play some with him, even for a little while.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I probably should be more into that stuff. Awhile back I played with efren a set, here at stix. I'm in a pretty good spot for the guys coming in. Between here and hard times you pretty much get to see everyone play live. I've never been the guy who is big on asking for pictures, autographs, etc. I did it with efren on the 4th or so visit I saw him. Just because of the "legend status" he has. Who knows maybe svb will get there too someday.

I played him last weekend at the CBC. 100 bucks. Race to 5. 8 ball. Last pocket 8 ball for him. Any pocket 8 ball for me. I missed 1 ball, ran out two racks and lost 5-2.

Good luck :)

No weight but you should warn him of your APA handicap, so he can start trembling in fear...

Or better yet, ask him to play APA 9-ball. He'd be about an APA 50, so how many balls is that?

Should of made him bank the 8 last pocket. Grew up on that game

I didn't even have to tell him my skill rating. Once he heard that I used to play in the APA he started shaking. I understand though. There's just no fair way to match up with that experiance under my belt.

Funny post! All kidding aside, if I had the chance, I would do my best to match up with him as cheap as possible. How often do you get the chance to play arguably the best player in the world? That's something you won't soon forget.

That's how I see it.

You asked for it...

Ok here it is: Ask him to spot you all the balls in 10 ball in a race to 10 for a hundred and Shane has all the breaks.

Thinking about it logically... With the way that Shane can put packages together when he finds a gear, as long as he plays smart safeties when he is supposed to, he could probably beat that spot against the average B-C player. It's ridiculous that it makes any sense for that to happen, but he really is that good.

I'd like to give that game a try. Honestly, though... knowing that I'd be hooked (or at least left in a really difficult position) every time I get to the table, if I'm not kicking and jumping at the top of my game, I probably loose that set.
