Shane .V.B vs Nick. (The Greek) Ekonomopoulos

Shane can be beat but it's highly unlikely... It doesn't matter who (or where)he plays, he is the favorite. Just watch the action room before the match..... 7 games is what it will take to get action.

I'll take the 7 games, the high denomination window is open!!

All the top European pro's have said Shane has even action with Nick. All he had to do is go to Greece, so he is. Then some say Shane lovers have there blinders on, he doesn't play good over seas, he better bring his A game. Then they turn around and say make a fair offer and I'll bet. If you guys are confident in your horse on his home table in his home town then bet on the guy.

I'll lay 120/100 against the greek on his home court. If this isn't fair enough for the Nick fans then your hearts pumping grape kool aid.

The European pros said that any American not just Shane have even action w/ Nick in Greece, that the best of the USA decided to take him ion tells you something, I said that I like Nick to win in a very tight match because of Shane's record outside the USA and for other reasons, some of you brought up that Nick has no chance needs 7. Or 10 games and such, well I'll take the 7 games, the window is open.:)

Great match! Was this Nikos' idea? Shane's?
Someone just wanted to see them play?

I am looking forward to watching.
By the way, I know it's early, but http://www.greekpool.com should announce this on their site.

I got to watch Nick play at last year's open and I was impressed with his rock solid fundamentals, jumping, and brutal safeties.

Despite that, Shane is still Shane.
Basically, Shane playing on his home court is the small spot Nick needs to have a chance.
Magic rack and 10b winner breaks, Nick will have to endure several packages from the chair.
That's not meant to be an insult to Nick, don't woof at me to make any bets :)

What I said was it will take 7 games to get action not I'll give 7 games. I'll be more than happy to bet $500 Shane win even up. I doubt you'll take this because you know he needs weight.

This is going to be a tough match for both Shane and Nikos. Whoever believes that this match is "fixed" is a fool to say the least... I guarantee you that Nikos is not like this............ In fact, he's one of the most honorable players and persons that I've ever met in my life...

Handicap? What handicap? Please do some research and don't limit yourselves to only what the US has to offer... There are other Countries as well that have produced huge players in every sense, players that are still around, winning tournaments and bets. USA is not the only Country in the World...

I was not one that said he needed 7-10 games...I offered you some odds on the money and that's all you can get out of me.

I will take Shane and give Nikos 7 games, if Nikos gets to 43 you win.
I would like to bet between € 100 and € 200, you choose. However since you are new here
you will have to post the money either with me or someone we both know and trust.

Nick the Greek is sure easy on the eyes! :grin-loving:

He did have a very impressive showing at the recent U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship.

It's hard to judge how strong a player he is when comparing Shane to him. Most Americans follow Shane on the tournmament trail but may not be as familiar with Nick.

My personal opinion is that it could go either way, especially if it is on Nick's home court. If this is an exhibition-type match, neither player will be utilizing their "killer instinct."

I have never seen Nick play but... I would have a hard time betting on anyone beating shane playing ten ball in a race longer than 25.

I know SVB thinks barbox 8 ball is his best game but in actuallity it's 10ball long races that I feel he's the best at.

SVB cut his teeth coming up playing long races in the back room. And we all know 10 ball is His game.

I agree with this......

I hope that's not true! It's a common complaint about exhibition matches.
But for the record, the winner is getting paid more than the loser in this one,
though CSI won't list exact numbers.

My feeling is, under pressure, most players execute a bit below their best.
But that also means they care a lot and play very carefully. So it's kind of a wash.
Their mental game makes up for any shortcomings in their physical game.

Ideally you can find the perfect balance... where the player cares and tries hard,
but they don't care so much that they start dogging it.
Greece is probably amazing this time of year and will probably be easier
for shane to adapt to than flying to, say, china. We might see a really impressive
performance if both players are comfortable.

How about you read the post he responded to and then ask yourself if making an offer of an "even" bet makes any sense at all.

If you have trouble figuring it out I will help, it does not.

If someone says Nick is a huge dog then people have a right to ask those people what they are offering in odds.

You coming in and saying that suddenly makes the people asking what people think the fair odds are like Nick even and asking for a even bet is simply stupid.

He said he liked the Greek to win. I offered an even bet saying I liked Shane to win. Nowhere did I say he was willing to bet even I simply stated a bet, which by the way was to him no you so mind your business! If he can get odds which he should more power to him. Dont come on here saying I like the Greek and then when someone offers an even bet call that person out. Again why is this your business?

I like Nick to win, in a very tight match, opinions?

Celtic this is in regards to my previous post. Where is asking for weight? Because others chimed in my offer to him is no good. Forget everyone on here, a bunch internet tough guys who run rack after rack and talk about how good so and so is and those are the same people that will never bet a dime. Im done on this topic hit me up when the massacre is over

Home room+ country+ continent advantage is much bigger than people seem to realize.

SVB should be a slight favorite in a neutral venue, bigger in the US, but in this set up I'd make the line even or slight fav NickE

"Exhibition" is this being shelved as a go to excuse if the match doesn't go the way some expect?

This is definitely NOT an exhibition match... It's a Challenge...

I don't know why people think this might be an exhibition match when the pot is 5000EUR... Unless if Shane's Sponsor is giving away 5000EUR for Shane to play against Nikos...

Even if the pot is not in EUR but in USD (I don't know yet, but I will find out today), then it still is a lot of money for an exhibition match...

And it's not April Fools day either, so............

Plus, on April 24th - April 27th, Different Billiards will be hosting an Open 9Ball Tournament... Have a look here:

Nick needs weight to have the nuts, no weight I stil think he wins a squeaker

Nick is a very bad dude no doubt. He does your country proud as does Shane to ours. Whoever wins, this should be awsome:cool:

Lets not forget that the equipment they use in china is much different. Well that's what I heard anyway. If this match is on a diamond with a magic rack I don't think it matters if they played in Greece, china or another planet.
