It was the Shane Van Boening show at Table Stakes South in Denver last night. He played and of course won the usual Thursday night 9 ball tournament. The GC1 4" pockets on the finals table didn't bother him in the least. To say he is gifted is an understatement. Cue ball control second to none. I'm still in shock.

I wish I was lucky enough to play in a weekly tournament with players of his caliber.

I got a couple videos of him shooting two crazy stroke shots last night. I'll try to put them up on youtube tonight and post a link.

He plays so good its really hard to believe, he makes it all look so easy.

I heard he's going to play Donnie Mills this weekend, is that going to be streamed? I haven't beein paying attention to the action threads I guess.

Starts next Saturday.

Shane's been staying in Fort Collins w/his friend that owns Match Ups. It's been fun having him around although he keeps night hours and I keep day hours so I haven't seen him much. But it was pretty cool having SVB play in the weekly Sunday handicapped tournament - while he was playing a match, they were showing his match w/Nick Van D'berg (sp?) on TV right over the table he was playing on. I didn't know what to watch  :).

It was fun to watch either. SVB is a great talent and I feel fortunate to see him in person every once in a while. I think he will be in town until he leaves for FLA and his match w/Donnie. That should be a good one.

Does anyone know how to contact Shane? I saw him last night but didn't get a chance to speak with him. I would definitely drive up to the Fort for a lesson if he is in town and has time.

Thank you!

I just PM'd you. It says if you provide me w/your name & number i will pass it on to the owner of Match Ups to give to Shane. I will only have access to this computer for another 1/2 hour - My home computer has crashed.

That would be great to see Alex. One of these days In will drop out of these mountains and meet up with you, But not this weekend ( your weather sucks:) )

This is a pretty tough weekly tournament. Mark Haddad played last night. Danny Medina, Melissa Little, lots of good players play in it often.

Just curious... I remember this thread several months back, where this guy posted Danny Medina wanted to get back in action...

how is he hitting them these days?

He apparently hasn't made a comeback, like the thread back then suggested, has he? Just wondering what a monster player from back in the day, is doing these days.

Thanks

I watched Shane play a match at the US Open this year and i've never seen anyone play a more perfect match. His cue ball control and shot making are just awesome. What a player he is and will be for many years to come.
