Shane's stock at Action Challenge II?

I dont think 7-5 odds will generate any action except with the most die hard Earl Fan. Even then, it will not likely generate anything more than sweat bets. I know I certainly don't think I'd take Earl for less than 3-1 or 4-1 on the money. Maybe not even then. Shane has to be seen as a mortal lock to win this, but then that would worry me too if I was betting big money on Shane giving up 4-1. I dunno...this is a really tough match to figure out what a good line is.

TAR might have more interest and more action if they got a Pinoy against Shane. Do people here think Shane can beat Alcano or Orcullo in a race to 100? I like Shane against Efren and Parica in a race to 100 but I think I still would have to take Alcano or Orcullo. What say you all?

Maybe Earl dumped the tournament to get a good line. Now that the world is underestimating him, he's got the nuts and he's betting everything he owns.
Anything is possible, but I highly doubt it. Earl hasn't done much of anything in the last 5 years. I think a big part of the reason he quits so many matches these days is he doesn't want to lose to a "lesser" player (and in his mind, everyone is a lesser player). If he quits, he doesn't "really" lose. Unless he has A LOT of his own money riding on the match, I see him quitting at some point.

Beside the fact that Shane is the best player on the planet right now (believe me, I watched him play 4 matches live at the US Open), I can't see Earl keeping it together for a race to 100. I have the entire set of tapes from the "Color of Money" Hong Kong Challenge race to 120 against Efren. He couldn't even hold his mental state together for that long back then (over 10 years ago). He had that match in the bag and completely fell apart mentally at the very end. So, even if he doesn't quit, his mental state will probably get in his way at some point.

That said, I've always loved Earl's game (if not the man himself). I've been a big fan for years and never miss one of his matches at the US Open (this year was my 14th). And if we could transport the Earl of 15 years ago to today, I would call the match even. And what a match it would be -- total control versus raw, wild power. I'm salivating just thinking about it!

Anyway, no odds could make me bet on Earl. I would have to have games on the wire on this one. And I think 30 or more would be necessary.

Is the money posted for ACII? I just wonder if the money is already put up so that if one of the players doesn't show it's a forfeit?

Yes there is posted money. If one or both do not show for any reason it is forfeit. Not that that would make anyone feel better. Both players have given their word they will be there. Until something proves otherwise that is good for me.

What AZBers are planning on going? Me and one or two of my cohorts should be heading in to Louisville to sweat this one...

i 100% know SBV will be there and am sure 99.5% Earl will be there. I jokeingly made a small bet Earl would get pissed and walk out winning or losing, It was just a joke, perhaps in poor taste and I appologise. I hope 200% that the event goes off perfectly.

Rayjay, if you would like to wager that Shane gets to 100 before Earl gets to 65 (35 on the wire), you have a bet. We can PM for the details.
