I would love to see cues in this higher end category of cues generally valued today upwards of $30,000 and more.( And not the axe like thing Mcdermott made for some medieval sword collector. )

there aren't any. not even super rare SW's/'Bushkas/Szam's cost that much. why would you think there are 30k cues?? you shopping?

I am buying another cue in the $40K range, why would you think there are no $30K cues?
no REAL pool cue runs that much. Maybe some gold/jewel encrusted one-off but no cue anyone would actually use cost that much. only exception might be a super rare 'bushka or szam. but even those usually top put in the $20's.

I do not disagree with you. I myself do not play with anything much more expensive than $3K-5K.

I'd love to see that one!
It's being built, the materials were ordered. I will share photos obviously once it is done next year. Before the design is fixed, I am taking a last minute look at what other cue makers have done for high end "one off" cues. I am actually surprised that there aren't a few examples of new cues at this level.

I should look up the Ginacue Anniversary cues, maybe I can get some ideas.

Yes, that Zen cue is quite something. The blank I have is all handmade the traditional way without the use of any CNC. I am not sure if the inlays will be cut with a computer controlled router, but once more details of the construction come about, I will be able to maybe share a hint or two. Again, my hopes are to look at a variety of cues to see what old school cue making has done in the past for consideration into the design of my neo-vintage cue.

It’s the Dennis Searing Golden cue. It’s on AZB not sure how to put it in this thread.

Now that's what I am talking about! Very nice cue! A little conservative with the gold, but clearly a lot of work to make it!

The cue I am ordering is not as modern as the Searing. It is built ontop of several legends. There are four cue makers involved in making the cue. Three are hall of fame cuemakers. It is almost an impossible combination, hence the substantial time and cost involved, each cue maker contributed one major stage of the cue starting from building a blank. Each cue maker works on a stage of the cue they are most skilled at making so the cue is built by the best person I could get for their specialty. The final inlaywork is left to the youngest generation cuemaker who himself is yet to be a hall of famer; however, he is in a family of great cuemakers. The cue design is quite simple with only about 72 inlays but the heritage was very important to me.

Sounds like a very exciting project!! I look forward to any progress reports, if you choose to provide them… and to seeing the finished cue. Thanks for sharing it with us. Few will ever have a chance to move thru the process you’ve put in motion.
Hope you’re able to enjoy it to every extent you imagined😎
