Shipping a cue?

It does not mean you will get it -Fed Ex Has Failed too in the past Many times even when it was paid for .
High dollar cues can only be insured for a max of 5k thru the express mail service & regular priority mail service.
If the cue is worth more than 5k, you can send it Registered Priority mail It can go as high as 25k- & it is cheaper than regular priority mail due to the fact is they keep it under lock & key from the time you drop it off till it is delivered .
It is also signed for at every stop along the way during delivery by a postal employee .

I sent it Priority because of price and from some comments it is the most accountable. I wrapped it in a Priority tri box from the Post-Office. The cue is in a 1x1 hard case inside the tri box. It should be safe this way?

Hi James,
Fed Ex left 7k Worth of cues on my front door step in the rain when it was sent Over night declared value with signature confirmation.
I shipped a fellow Az'r a Scruggs overnight with signature confirmation & they left it at his front walkway.no signature again.
I had a cue shipped to me by a friend Fed Ex priority overnight with signature confirmation .It was lost & they won't pay. They said it was delivered & left at the front door at 7:24 am, again NO signature. The driver changed his story two times about the delivery. Once he said a small hand took the package & the next he said a woman said to leave it.The problem is ,I do NOT have kids & my wife sleeps till 11am every day & will not answer the door for anyone she is disabled.I was en route to my doctors when this was supposed to be delivered & it was not at my door when I got back.
The problem seams to be with their overnight service.
My ground driver is great to leave a note & come back with the delivery for me .

Then my old boss had cigars stolen from sealed boxes after a trade show when he shipped his stock back to himself.
That is why I will never ship FED Ex.

I agree with you after reading your post, but maybe it's the driver's in my area that make the difference. I've shipped quite a few cues with Fedex and so far I haven't had a problem, but I guess something could go wrong with any of the shipping companies. It's risky business putting a high dollar custom cue in a cardboard box and handing it to a stranger hoping everything goes well and it arrives safely.
