Shipping cases

I'm just about ready to put my Justis and George cases up for sale and have some questions:

Where do you get your shipping boxes?

What do Jack, JB, and others ship cases in?

What's fair shipping and handling for a Justis 2x4 with tubes?

Thanks

shipping cost on a case that size roughly 15

i just keep and reuse boxes from cues and cases bought before, never bought one really

Any box store carries 6x6x36 or 6x8x36 boxes

You need those if they are larger than 1x2 to ship high end cases correctly

I just shipped a 3x6 Murnak and 3x6 King this week and both cost around $18.00.

I must live in a geographical oddity or im not shipping right, because I never pay under $20-$30 to ship a case. Is everyone insuring them? What method of shipping do most people use? I just shipped a cue in a Justis case to FL and it was $48 with insurance. I just shipped a piece of fitness equipment to CA and used a sonotube, that would also work for any size cue case and theyre really cheap.

I have a mom and pop postal store I use when I need a large box to ship a case. Mine will even cut the box down to a smaller size, if needed.

If you ship that Justis case USPS Priority mail, you’re looking at close to $25-$30, including insurance.

Some Staples charge actual UPS charges. The mail box places or Pak Mail or UPS Store just about doubles (to more that ) the actual shipping costs.

If you call them with box dimensions and weight you can get a quote.

Please ship US Postal. We have a couple guys trying to make the Olympic team for javelin throw and your case in a box will be good practice. If we can hit a bin on the far side of the building, we have a chance to be on the team. At night, we all give it a try between 2 and 3 AM. Heck, one guy can kick a smaller box right through the basketball hoop by the dock.

Heck, go ahead and mark it "Fragile." hahahahaahhahahahahahaha First one to make it sound like broken glass wins.

Go to FedEx and get their triangle box. Bigger and stronger than USPS triangle, will handel 2x4 cases. If you are not shipping via fedEx, turn the box inside out.

USPS insurance is a waste of money. No one has ever been properly compensated by them when lost or damaged. Not once not ever.

Ive had 500+ cues and only once ever had one get lost in the mail, and it was with USPS. It was a Meucci sneaky pete and a Balabushka copy, one of the Adams cues. I mailed both to FL and insured them for $700. The Adams GB cue belonged to a friend who wanted it refinished before he sold it and he was tickled to death when he got his $400 insurance money. It wasnt easy and did take a while but they did iron off in full.

Proof of sale has gotten my insurance back repeatedly, 3 lost cues

They also guarantee their Express shipping and they have repaid me multiple times when the guaranteed time was missed

Pound for pound, USPS is still the best option

True. Keep the record of sale and all paper work. I did and got my $$ back on a lost cue which was insured.
