I am tired of getting product/ supplies in that are damaged. The last 3 shippments I have had delivered have been damaged beyond use. UPS SUCKS!!!!!! 9 feet 3/8 -10 rod that would be better used as boomerangs.
Tough to damage tips and rings but damn people take an extra day to deliver it but get it here undamaged.

John,
I to have had really terrible service from UPS as of late.
I started using USPS for all my shipments. The price is alot of times better and the service has been top notch. UPS used to leave my shipments outside and leave. This is terrible when dealing with the items we use like tips , wraps , WOOD,and other weather damaging items. Called them and they said it was just a drop ship , unless specified to sign for , this is just how we do it. I asked them for other ways , and they said sure , but can't guarantee anything.
So for me , USPS is the way I go. The insurance is good and thankfully I have never had to use it. May want to give them a shot. Most people will ship anyway you want them to. I use it for incoming and outgoing whenever I can.
Hope this may help , you are NOT alone with the poor service.
Thanx ,
Jim Lee

and I thought it was just my rotten luck with shippers !

UPS servive has gone down hill since their strike a few years back. before the strike, I always got supplies from Memphis to central MS overnight. after,,,takes 2 or 3 days.

before strike, UPS delivered before 8:00 a.m. on one of five trucks that passed right by my place. after strike, they deliver to me last in the p.m. when they are returning to the hub/depot.

.....and I won't go into how crappy FedEx shipping is in my area.

I prefer USPS, after that DHL is my best delivery. everyone else is a crapshoot. where did good service make a left turn to never return...

Sending stuff out ... Cues I have damn near bullet proof containers. You can jump up and down on them and not crush. The stuff coming in is what is constantly damaged. Any one know if Atlas will ship DHL or Fed-Ex or do these guys have similar problems with damage?
I have never had this problem from Ct cue parts.

goods and bads. atleast with ups u know where your package is (most of the time)

usps really sux. ups is the best in my area. i think it changes place to place.

when i lived in absecon the ups hub was right behind my house and i didnt get my package til 5:30 pm sometimes. seems ok in galloway but is the same hub. go figure

my usps lady WILL NOT knock on my door. i get a slip and have to go pick up. so annoying

My UPS guy will leave it on my doorstep, even if it's a signiture required package. I live on a busy street, so anything on the doorstep can disappear. I try to use USPS priority mail when ever possible, My mailman always leaves the package in my breezeway, out of sight of the road. Plus you can schedule a pick up - no charge, from USPS.

I try to use usps now. I use ups on occasion on large item but try to avoid them. A couple years ago I had a package with 2 rifles stolen off my front door of my gun shop when i was closed. The package was signature required over 18. They dropped it and left. UPS payed up but being a gundealer it was a pain in the ass. I had to get the ATF involved and file reports with them. Since then it left a bad taste in my mouth for ups.

So far, knock on the wood I build with, We have shipped cues everywhere with ups. No problems.

It's not the company, it's the people. Shipping companies have very strict policies, if the employees followed the rules nobody would ever have a problem.

i haven't used UPS in years.i got tired of waiting a week and half for the graound deliveries from the west coast.USPS is better, faster and cheaper.no reason to use anything else.just don't send any cash,it might disappear.

I've heard horror stories about USPS losing packages and grinding them up but over the last 10 or 12 years I have had no problems and I've sent many cues through the mail. Shipping is very much cheaper than UPS and FedEx also. This Spring I sent a cue to Seattle from Cincinnati overnight express for 28.00 and change. To ship by Priority it would have been 6.00 and change. I then had to go to FedEx to pick up a package and I asked them what it would have cost to send that same package and it was 83.00 and something overnight and 42.00 and something for ground. That sure opened my eyes.

For the first four or five years I built cues I used FedEx exclusively. I shipped a cue to a customer in Alaska only to have it arrive in pieces. He immediately called me in the presence of the FedEx driver for help. I suggested he accompany the driver to the FedEx Office. FedEx called me from the office and acknowledged the cue had been ruined in their possession and returned the cue to me. I filed a claim and was told in so many words that I could accept $300.00 for the cue which had been insured for $1000.00 or nothing. They also told me thay DID NOT have insurance. They have "Declared Value" which means nothing except that you will have to pay for what you think is insurance. I took the $300.00 and remade the cue for the customer. I WILL NEVER USE FEDEX AGAIN!!

Neither FedEx or UPS have insurance. They have "Declared Value" which means nothing. The U. S. Postal Service has insurance.

I have used the U. S. Postal Service for many and found that their service has been exemplary. You can ship from your home or business using their online program and they will pick up for NO charge. I love it and their rates are the best.

Good Cuemaking,

The postal service is least likely to bend a package. Making a claim with the post office is slow go. Making a claim with UPS is faster. UPS will often try to get the claim amount reduced. But hold to your guns and insist on full claimed value and you will usually get it. I have not had to make a claim with Fed Ex. But having Fed Ex pick up a package from me is often a pain. UPS rarely looses something which is a plus. USPS overseas should only be sent Global Express. We tried every other Air service and they were losing one out of four. They would pay the claims, but you have to wait 30 days to start a claim, so imagine how mad those customers were. We almost never lose anything using their Express service and it is usually a good bit cheaper than UPS or Fed Ex. If you have a problem with stuff getting bent request it be put in a shipping tube inside a regualr box. That should solve your problem. ALso make a claim on the rod and if UPS has enough claims made on a company they will make the company change the way they pack things.
