Shooting with the Stars!

I have a great idea that stemmed from listening to all the celebrities that play this game.

Maybe we should get a celebrity's tourny going for TV?

Maybe shooting with the stars! Each one could have a different pro player teach them how to shoot, and each week they would have to compete in a tournament. 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, ring game, 14.1, etc! Then the looser of the tournament and who the fans vote on has to go home!

What do you all think?

I personaly am sick of seeing pool reduced to a novelty. Most celebrities suck at everything except for being a celebrity. Showcase the best in the world, not the blonde bimbo media darling on the back side of her 15 minutes.

I'm not barking at you TX, just venting on our celebrity obsessed culture. Unfortunatly for curmudgeons like me, you have a great idea for a way to get pool seen by more people.

If I see an ad for one more (insert activity here) with the Stars I'm gonna go to the pet store and buy a baby bunny just so I can see how far I can punt it.

Yea, I was just trying to be funny. The only celebrity thing that my wife and I watch is dancing with the stars....................and you can guess why we watch that!

Yes, I have this fetish for ball room dancing.........it is my other passion! LMAO I actually have two left feet....or do I have two right feet? Doesn't matter I can't dance!

No, my wife likes it and I might actually have to start taking dancing lessons because my wife likes it so much. Well I guess compromise is a good thing. I learn to dance, she lets me play in pool tournaments whenever I please! LOL

I'd watch it just for kicks, why not? Even if they did it they'd only show highlights though, because the target audience wouldn't want to watch a whole match.

I remember seeing a clip from some celebrity match and Jeanette Lee was telling someone to shoot a shot with english, and reminding them to hit a little thinner to compensate. Yeah, OK! (I don't think they made it)

I would watch it, only if it didnt have all that drama crap. I would watch anything related to pool, as long as it was on public television!

Dancing with the stars doesn't have much drama. They show you what they learned each week, and how the practicing went with the dance instructors. Then they dance for the night.

If they did the same thing for pool it would be pretty cool I think. Also if they wanted they could use actual billiards instructors instead of pros.

Then it would promote pool instructors at the same time.

We could have Randy G. teaching a star.
Scott Lee teaching a star.
Stan Shuffett teaching a star.

And you get the idea.

Then towards the end of the season the pros could come on and have a mini tournament or something to show the world what the pros shoot like.

I bet it would bring a lot of publicity to the world of pool.

Just my thoughts on it, but oh well.

How about tweaking the name a little bit, to "Shooting Stars". Er, well maybe that makes it sound like stars will be getting shot... which might actually help increase interest. JCIN? OK, how about, "The Shooting Stars".
