Should we believe?

A couple of weeks ago a mixed group of people started discussions of the possibillity of buying the IPT, whatever that would exactly mean. We came so far that we had a group of investors interested, and notified Deno J. Andrews about our interest.

Deno was initially interested to carry on with more concrete negotiations/talks, and we had an agreement to discuss this in the beginning of this week.

In my emails to Deno I told him that we were interested in different options, some of them included that a part of the deal could be paying the winning-checks from Reno either partly or full, in addition to taking over the website, contracts, sponsors, membership club and equipment ++.

After my latest email he simply replied with the letter from Kevin Trudeau, which we take as a sign that the IPT is no longer interested in selling.

In my opinion this strongly suggests that the letter from KT is the real deal, and that the IPT will live on in some form.

There are still some financial problems, as KT is writing in his letter, but I know believe that they are having the best intentions with their work. And why would they turn down an oppurtunity to sell and get out, instead of keep on with stall-tactics?

The big questions are of course, what will the weekly checks be, and when will we get information about the future?

Because, the company is so screwed up they can't sell it if they wanted to. Can you imagine the accounting they have been doing, money misappropriation and so on. Kevin doesn't want anybody looking at anything he does. He is in the midst's of a law suit right now and he doesn't even want to show tax returns or any financial records that would work to his advantage to prove his case.

I wouldn't read anything into him not wanting to talk to you he is very secretive, he's not letting you see inside the IPT. I know you are trying to read something positive into what he said but he has his own reasons.
Forget about the weekly checks. These are the same people who can't fill an order for one DVD.

You don't think they are sending out 200 checks of different and specific amounts, and doing the accounting as to who gets what and how much they have been paid, as well as interest, that would be normal for such a deal and sending them all over the world every week do you? The deal is so ridiculous it is not even worth thinking about.

You have a very strong belief system

We had a bet on who would reply first to this thread, guess what, I won :D

You can try to deflect what I say by making it personal when you have no answer, that's fine. It's weak but fine.

What is there to say? I see your points, and it could very well explaine the reason for not being interested, I have no problems admitting that.

However, I felt that it could be important to know for people that there has been interest, but that it has been declined. That's the reason for starting the thread.

But actually we did have a bet, and it was who would write first of you and Timberly! And I won ;)

The law suit I mentioned is going to court in February and has to do with his financial dealings and money and income that he may be losing due to outside interference. The IPT would defiantly come up if this suit goes forward. Ever though he managed to get the suit put off for more then a year, he wanted three years, the time has gone by quickly as time has a way of doing. He is now caught in a number of problems all at the same time and is scrambling.

As far as answering, I have several computers that are all on, I have a home office and if I see something that gets my interest I will answer. I type fast and it only takes me a few seconds to make a comment.

You have to admitt, it is kind of funny. Roy cares, and does have a sense of humor.

Mcguy, i will hand it to ya, you are quick.

I'm making an extreme exception posting this.

within two weeks after reno, i called and left messages to the ipt with regards to buying them out. My proposals went UNANSWERED.

It is ironic, that my first reaction was that they COULDN"T show the books. I gave what i thought was a fair valuation of the ipt at the time and it even included his obsolvement of the 3 million dollar debt.

Keep in mind, this is BEFORE the real credibility issues came to light.

I would consider the ipt to be worth much less, almost worthless at this point.

Furthermore, correct me if i'm wrong, but can a convicted felon really be the head of a publicly traded company by law. Will the fcc allow such an ipo. I have been told not.

Interestingly enough, yesterdays email saw the first mentions of the word BANKRUPTCY as what would be considered a normal, viable busines option for others. HMMMMMMM:rolleyes:

HOLD ON FOLKS, SOME VERY INTERESTING NEWS WILL BE MADE PUBLIC. I GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL BE THE FINAL STRAW.

Roy...Your theory certainly is plausible. However, there is another theory...however Machiavellian that I would propose.

There is a case to be made that the IPT is virtually unsalable at any reasonable price to anyone except the richest and Greatest Fool. That thesis would hold that:
A. There is nothing proprietary about an internationally based pool tour...anyone with the funds could start one today.
B. While the IPT's single tangible asset...it's library of videos of the matches clearly has value, it is likley not greater and possibly not even close to its existing debts thereby rendering the NET value of the IPT as essentially zero.
C. Deno, presumes you and your group are not the Greatest Fools (and rightfully so IMO based on the content of your posts) and that it is pointless to waste his time or yours negotiating the sale of what you are not likley to buy.
D. Since, as the "Dot.com" craze proves...the Greatest Fools are typically to be found in the marketplace for new public company securities...however preposterous their business plans might be...such as the infamous Grocery.com which had a billion dollar market cap (for a few minutes (-: based on the notion that people would order their groceried on-line. So THAT avenue of raising funds is the only "realistic" chance the IPT has.

Again, your theory is just as valid as the above...if not more so...but I offer it up as at least a plausible alternative.

Jim

NYC Dude...<<Will the fcc allow such an ipo. I have been told not.>>

It is the "SEC" (Securities and Exchange Commission) not the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) that regulates public offerings.

Clearly, the SEC has the power to ban people from acting in an executive capacity with public companies...Martha Stewart for example. But such people simply become "non-executive consultants" and proceed from there.

I am not certain that being a convicted felon bars people from serving as executives of public companies thereby raising an impediment to filing a public offering. But one thing is virtually certain...that no IPO...in the United States...will ever raise any appreciable amount of capital regardless of whether KT is or is not an executive of that company.

Why?

1. Because of KT's background.
2. Because pool is not popular enough...relative to curing diseases (Natural Cures) to touch off a buying craze.

But that doesn't mean that an IPO could not be sold in some foreign countries. I am just suggesting that I would be surprised if KT even ATTEMPTED one in the U.S.

Regards,
Jim

Has it occurred to you he simply sent this email to everyone in his contacts list and did not specifically mean it to answer your question but instead it was just an FYI for a potential investor?

Of course I have to say you have given me the *best* idea. If Timbers and Eydie really want to get to the bottom of the IPT's finances they just need to pose themselves as rich but none too bright investors who've heard how unprecedentedly great all the IPT TV ratings have been worldwide and want to get in on the ground floor before the IPO. (Don't forget to put on a Scandinavian accent ladies.)

Sorry to obviously be a nuisance to whoever said it would be me. I'm not real sure why they would pick me other than they think I'm a nuisance because I'm not business savvy when it comes to these matters and I rarely partake in business talks. I read but limit participation because I have no knowledge to offer.

I'm not sure how many have ordered DVDs and not gotten them, but as a related note, a friend of mine asked if they would be interested in donating anything for a charity tournament raffle, and they sent him some DVDs. And this happened recently, certainly after Reno.

Much has been discussed about the credibility of KT's statements in his last e-mail...so much that I haven't had time to read all of the posts so please forgive any restatement of what has already been posted.

But I just wanted to comment on a couple of his statements because they show how full of some combination of mindless hype and outright falsehoods pass this man's lips...and typing fingers.

<<In my last e-mail I told you to pop the champagne. This may have been a little premature...>>>

MAY have been?????? May have been???
He can't even get an apology out without BSing people.

<<This business "trade secret" was the magic ingredient that produced a viable, profitable business model and revenue stream that would make the IPT a profitable ongoing business enterprise.>>

Many posts have pointed out that the new law only banned credit card payments.

But here is another related slant. Even if such payments were not made specifically illegal, it is IRREFUTABLE that the "trade secret" that KT relied upon...the "magic ingredient" to create a "viable, profitable business model" was inherently and fundamentally BASED...according to KT...on massive violation of U.S. gambling laws...forget about how the payments (read LOSSES) are paid.

What kind of disgusting person is going to BASE his business model in reliance upon massive illegal activity??

<< For the first time in billiards history we have secured primetime television coverage in America with a major broadcast partner.>>

That is UTTERLY untrue. In the pool heyday spawned by The Hustler, major pool championships achieved NETWORK...not cable which still reaches a minority of U.S homes...but ABC NETWORK prime time scheduling on such legendary programs as Wide World of Sports...and many others. Keep in mind that cable tv has only penetrated about 70% of U.S. households and is VIEWED by only roughly half of U.S. households.

So, cable RATINGS are misleading since the ratings are expressed as a percentage of the available audience whiich is smaller than the broadcase audience.

In any event, in spite of the way cable ratings are calculated, I doubt if the IPT programming has achieved any "never before seen ratings for billiards."

Jim
