Show us what you play with....

Honestly, it's for sale because Paul is making something specifically for me. It's a Davis blank, Purpleheart into Ebony.

Since you like Paul's work so much, why did you decide to have him convert a Davis blank instead of making a cue from scratch. I'm not throwing stones, just curious about your decision.

Here's my player that was posted in the original thread. I have quite a few cues in my collection and quite a few that pass through my hands. I bought this cue because I loved it when Matt from Cueaddicts first had James make it. I had not played with the cue at the time I purchased it, but once I did I was blown away. It is the best balanced cue I have ever owned, and normally that is the first thing people comment on when they play with it. I still get my other collection cues out and play with them, but this is the everyday player no matter where I play.

Cue by James White, extension by Pete Tonkin, caps by Alton:

Thats a very fair question Jamie. The fact is, I have owned many of Paul's cues and they have been both conversions and cues that he has made from scratch. The cue I posted and am currently playing with was made from scratch. It plays as well as almost anything else I've ever owned but it's time for a change.

I really like the collaboration between Paul and John. Not to mention the history behind how Mr. Davis began making blanks. So it's nothing specific in regards to this particular cue. I'm sure the new one will come and go as well and I'll move onto another PFD in 6 months.

My everyday player is a Blackcreek. I think Travis's cues play suberb and he makes one of the best full splices in the business if not the best. Not to mention he is a hell of a nice guy.

The blue veneered cue is my daily player. Hopefully the other will get some action at some point. Its still unchalked.. :(

Travis's cues play great and those are a couple beauties Colin! Can't wait to get my new Blackcreek at the SBE. Travis is going to blow some people's minds when they see his new stuff.

I Always enjoy hanging out with Travis at the SBE, and I hear you are coming as well Colin. Can't wait!!!!

Here is my daily Gina player. Wicked abalone inlays and the most incredible feeling lizard wrap I have ever had my hands on.

I cant wait to get outta town myself for a few days Jamie!

That cue of yours is sweet too I always wanted that White cue.

That cue sucks. Ugly as sin, and I bet it hits like crap. You should get rid of it ASAP. I mean NOW. Don't wait...unload that God-forsaken P.O.S. People are laughing at you behind your back for having it. You don't need that kind of heartache. I know somebody that will gladly assume control of it...for your sake.

PM sent with my mailing address.

:D ;)

Mark <---here to help!

I'm glad your here to help me Mark. I really need it.

Great cue. I bet it hits as good as any on here.

What he said!

Just beautiful!

I had a chance to buy a wrapless titlist tribute James White at the SBE last year. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. I'll be looking for one this year though!

How on earth do you keep your eyes on the ball when you have a cue as gorgeous as that?

Yeah, it can definitely be difficult but I try to keep any pool cue ogling for when I'm waiting to shoot...lol. :D

After playing with it for several hours this weekend it definitely felt like home. I felt like I could do pretty much anything I wanted with the cue ball. My fundamentals are a little rusty but I was definitely able to spin the ball. I was able to shoot Robert Byrne's power draw shot three rails, pretty much, at will. The shot is diagramed below for those not familiar.

These are my 2 players.

A McDermott Odyssey and a Meucci Sneaky Peter.

The SP is my favorite cue but the Odyssey gets me games. Whip out a less than intimidating cue and you get a lot of action.
