Show us your HOME ROOMS !!

Posted this a while back but thought i'd share on this thread.
Just took them pictures today, have been learning how to photograph cues better so those lamps are sort of in the way but don't really affect play so i decided to leave them in the pool room.

My pool room ain't big, but sufficient for a 9 footer with no obstruction for a full stroke using a regular 58" cue. Might not look the case but i measured before i had it in the room and have verified it.

I don't really do much entertaining in the room, it's mostly just for me to hang and shoot some pool after work. Rarely have guys coming over since i'm too far from anybody. Pool room is linked to my office via a wooden sliding panel, it's the horizontal panelled piece on the side of the wall between the 2 wall cabinets.

I dig the old school badminton rackets, very sweet

Me too, what's the story on those?

Nice Mezz BP Pro-H too by the way.

Thanks. Those rackets don't belong to me, belong to my older brother who's really into badminton. These rackets are vintage rackets and pretty collectible. He's been collecting for years buying from all over the world. When he saw what I did with the pool room he suggested to showcase them there, I was cool with it with the exception that they'd need to be in a nice display case.
I think it turned out pretty cool too and a nice element to the room. Was originally gonna have a TV on the wall but I don't really watch TV in the pool room.

Yes sir! I break with one as well but I have the ash core one.

Love the room and the badminton rackets are an awesome touch.

Well done. :)

If you break hard you should try them H shafts. Incredible stuff. If you're looking to trade there's a Bob B on AZ who has a H shaft looking to trade for a R shaft. Overall PB Pros are crazy breakers.

Thanks again for your kind comments.

BEFORE pictures

All I have is a couple of BEFORE pictures, because I don't have my table yet. First picture is about a year ago. We had just bought this place and I had placed a few markers on the carpet where a 7 footer could go. The only short stick tight spot is the column. Everywhere else is fine for a standard cue.

The wife and I don't like wall to wall carpet in the basement so we yanked it out as you see in the second picture. I have to fill in all the cracks, but in 3 weeks or so I'll have the floor coated with tan epoxy and a 7' Olhausen Augusta with Simonis Green 860 (color chart on table) will be sitting where the work table is. Throw carpets, couch, TV and beer fridge later, I'll have almost no reason to leave the basement... ever:wink:

I'll try to add mine here, too! It been decorated a little since this picture was taken.

Wish I could spend all day every day down here!

Hello Brian,

Didn't see how to contact you without AIM, so I'm reviving this great thread.

A totally gorgeous combination you've got there!

That's pretty much what I have in mind for my basement; even down to the Telescope Casual chairs.

My question is: If you play with just the four can fixture, do you experience any light fall off at the end rails? I'll be setting up in our new home in September, and at least to start, the table fixture will have to be my only source of illumination. Thanks a million. I can hardly blame you for wanting to spend all your time down there. One of the benefits I have being a 64 year ol' pharght...

Ok - Here it is! The tan epoxy is down and the table setup. I blew the budget on the pool table, so I'll have to make do with a futon and some tray tables for a while. The table was installed on Friday and I've spent at least 4 hours a day since playing. Unfortunately, work is now getting in the way:frown: I've got a long way before I'm a decent player so I'm starting with 3 ball ghost. Ball in hand after the break and I'm still losing more 1/2 of the time - that's how bad I am now. Just you wait Mr. Ghost....

You can find everything you need used on craigslist and the bay if you're patient. I've found and bought two pool tables, the valley 7' coin op on CL for just $100. An antique Brunswick-Balke-Collender cue rack, a kick ass stereo, and more. Great stuff if you're on a budget, or a tight ass like me.

Good luck with the ghost. He never misses, but you can out smart him. Welcome to your new hobby...I mean addiction.

Love the rooms guys. Unfortunately I don't have any room in the house so my table is in the shed which I am turning into a games room.

You have the table, bar (10% done!), fridge, music and darts. Question, by USA standards is my table tight?

It doesn't have the same wide angled pockets you guys seem to have (I am new to pool!)

Those look like tight and not "wide angled" pockets to me. I can easily fit two balls in the jaws of my pockets. Two of your balls don't even fit. Alright, quit snickering fellas... You know what I'm talking about.

Yeah looking at some of the tables in this thread makes me think my pockets are a bit tight

I'm no expert, but the rounded cushions say "snooker table" to me.
