Gc i

My room has been in place since '98. The table is a 9' Gold Crown I.

The table was originally installed in a pool hall and later owned by someone who stripped and stained the pedestals and aprons. It has it's share of battle scars but retains it's original cushions which perform fine.

I recently acquired another GC I and my ultimate goal is to restore that table and build a Diamond style light to replace the current fixture.

I feel fortunate to be able to have a 9 foot table at home and never considered anything but a Gold Crown. As it sits, (Purchase price, moving, setup, Simonis cloth, Aramith balls, 4 Dufferin house cues) I have $2,500 into the table. At the time (1998), I hired a Brunswick dealer to assemble it and have no complaints. Today, I would use the resources of this forum as well as referrals from people I have become acquainted with in the industry to select an experienced pool table mechanic. But again, as the table sits, I have no complaints.

My dream would be to find a reasonably priced Centennial and restore that table, but the likelihood of finding a Centennial in restorable condition at a price within my budget is unlikely.

Nothing snazzy about my garage other than my brand new gabriels imperator!
and my entertainment center with sweet dragon sculptures, I've got 3 that are cheap ones but the big one is unique as I've never seen another and I love it

Somehow most of my pics didn't get uploaded, so I'm going to repost...

I've been slowly upgrading my home room for 3 ½ years. Here are some pics of the evolution.

We built the house in 2002 and for nine years the game room was a kids playroom, while I was still out of pool. I got back into the game in May of 2011. By December I installed the table, a new Olhausen “Hampton” oversized 8’ (46”x92”). Note the Dora The Explorer poster.

Pic #1: December 2011 (with Simonis 860 “Spruce” color cloth):

Pic #2: In mid-2013 I painted the walls, installed a 55” TV, added several billiard chairs
Pic #3: I also had a custom cabinet built that included notches for cues.

Pic #4-5: In late 2014 I added crown molding and replaced the old ceiling fan with six can lights and three pendant lights. In July 2015 the carpet was been replaced with a blue/tan checkerboard pattern and the old worn cloth was replaced with Simonis 860 “Powder Blue”. Behind the camera is a bay window with built-in seating.

The old spruce color cloth went well in the room but it was difficult to see the edge of balls at times. I'm greatly enjoying the blue Simonis and we picked a carpet color that would go with the cloth.

I think it’s now complete, but who knows :*)

@jeff - Room looks great! Love the color of the cloth and the colors in the carpet and wall. Quite a transition! Just one question - where did the Dora the Explorer poster go?!

Hey guys I have been lurking a long time on here, finally got some $$ together to remodel my basement. Of course there will be a living room and a little exercise section but I am working first and foremost on the main objective :) I finally have some progress pictures to show. This is all weekends and nights I am free with my lovely Girlfriend and family helping when they can.

I do have some early before pictures I will have to post when I get home, we removed a utilities room to make it all work.. I am sure you guys get the drift.

Chris.

It looks like you have been working hard on your room Chris O! Nice improvements.

In that first picture is that a whole house built in vacuum? How well does it work?

Nice transitions Chris...keep the pics coming. You've done a lot of work so far. I started planning what I wanted to do with my lower level room back around the beginning of the year and there have always been so many competing things going on, it was difficult to get traction on it. Finally showing some progress...after some debate as to whether to put the table light up first or setup the table first, I went with the light ;p I'll have to get some pics up...I did the floor, some paint...didn't get into moving walls and such!

Thanks guys!

I got lucky with my light install, got it up last night with minimal effort pics to follow, I am sure it could have been a lot worse. I have this feeling, I may be getting a nice light for Christmas from my family so I wired in a temporary "garage sale special" for now just in case.

The "Central Vac" works really well!! Its old, but very few moving parts I think is what keeps it going. I have a port in the basement and in my dining room, central to the house and a huge hose that reaches everywhere else, equal suction throughout as well :)
