In addition to what has been said, the cue has been re-wrapped at some point in its life. The bottom shaft is very likely original, given the Lucite ferrule. The upper shaft looks like it came later, or got a ferrule replacement.

The Palmers were such a cool line of cues. Their designs and their evolution is so representative of the times. The blanks from various sources also help make them special. Inlays done with razors and small chisels.
Worth every bit of effort to find them and save them.

Where Were You in 1965/1966?
Palmer First Catalog Model 8 and Pre-Catalog Model E both made with somewhat rare light blue/aqua rings.
Both models are house cue conversions, received in excellent condition but both needing finishing. The Model E on the right was purchased with no finish. The previous owner, a cue maker had sanded the forearm and removed the wrap. The Model 8 on the left had numerous dings and damage to the finish on the forearm and also had no wrap.
Both were refinished and rewrapped by Paul Drexler / PFD Studios in Marlborough, CT.

Margo "Bullet" #5 although this is a shop cue made for the actual retail shop. Unfortunately, the butt cap was a loss as it had multiple wide cracks in it and would have not been stable enough. I replaced it with milk white delrin and a traditional R6 bumper, refinish, rewrap and a new leather wrap. Solid little player I must say.
Beautiful cue. I find it amazing how many Wico forearms were used in Model 5's. This might be the fifth or sixth that I've seen. Regardless, any Palmer Wico is rare. Thanks for sharing.
