Curtis Robertson

Here is a conversion done by Curtis Robertson of Robertson Custom Cues. Picked it up in December while I was home on leave.

Titlist conversion from Munich

Will get this from Cem Cues soon when it's finished.
Was able to make some pics yesterday. Now it's hard to wait for.

Three new Skip Weston titlists. He held onto these since 1995 ish...
Top: Older WWII era, wood he believes to be Osage Orange, when he compares to other osage in the shop, great age and point length.
Middle: Walnut with curly maple, also older vintage cue.
Bottom: Purpleheart with light curl and figure, probably a late 50's / early 60's.

Huge difference is the veneering. All cues are as full as they can be. Any splicing would have been done at the back end for length, ala Bushka.

Always nice to share some great classic work.

JV

Conversion by "Tex" Fitzgerald

Here are a few pics of my Titleist conversion. The cue was made by "Tex" Fitzgerald in Chicago. I bought it from Tex, new, in 1972 or so. The cue has a brass 5/16 by 18 pin and a stainless steel collar. The butt cap is not ivory but not plastic either. I bought it with two solid maple shafts that I still use.

Don't know why all the Titlist threads were resurrected, but I love seeing them. Hard to beat the old school classic look of a good conversation! My humble submission, Richard Black, Walnut, 57-1/2", 3/8x10 Ivory. Best playing cue I have ever hit with.
