Can someone give me clear instructions as to how I can upload photos to the forum. I want to show pictures of my JD cue so that I can solicit opinions from some of the experts.

Photo upload

Easiest way is post them to a photo hosting website ie ( photobucket, etc) then post them here. In the mean time send them to murphy405@ hotmail.com and I will post them for you.

Just use the PAINT software that comes with your Windows operating system. That is the easiest way to reduce the size of the JPEG file, so that you can ATTACH it to the message window.

This topic has come up many times. The SEARCH feature may help you, but I will provide a copy-and-paste of one of tghe other posts in this regard:

Use the Paint program. It's the easiest and you don't have to join anything.

Click START
Click on PROGRAMS.
Click on ACCESSORIES
In the dropdown window, click on PAINT.
Pull up picture in PAINT.
Click STRETCH/SKEW
Change HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL to same numbers. Depending on how big your photo is, I'd try 15 and 15 or 25 and 25.
Save it using a NEW NAME to your desktop.

Piece of cake.

After you do this, then you ATTACH it to your post using the MANAGE ATTACHMENT button under the window that says "Additional Options." It is self-explanatory after you attach it. You click CHOOSE FILE. Then you UPLOAD the picture file from your desktop or wherever you have the file.

Here's a pic of my new monitor. I just added it to this thread in an effort to go through the steps to make sure I covered everything. I love this monitor. It's so big and nice for my tired old eyes. :o

JD Cue

Emboyna burl and ebony with ivoryine inlays. Hopefully everything is now together. Any opinions?

Jam did a great job of explaining how to reduce the size of the pictures to attach to your posts, however, for cues I would make the pictures a little large so it is easier to see the detail. Again, it depends on the original size of your pictures as to the percentage to shrink them down, these are too small to get a good idea of your cue, which is really nice by the way.

If you want to experiment, there is a "Test Area" that has been set up in the main forum just for this reason. I would suggest experimenting there and once you come up with an acceptable picture size, do it for real.

Yeah, the pictures posted by poolhalljunkie for you look tiny, about 3 1/4" wide on my 24" monitor (set at 1920x1200 resolution). If you try to use them to sell or show off a cue, you may not get much interest becaues of that.

Not a slam, just my opinion. I'd consider adding some close-ups.

My first pictures turned out too small as well because I was trying too hard to meet the 100 Kbyte requirement. I have been finding the reducing the picture in MS Paint to 800x600 pixels provides a jpg file that AZB will accept and looks better on screen. I didn't test the limits, so even larger may work.

Anybody know how to post a picture in a PM? The attachment button doesn't show up.

Guys, sign up for a Photobucket account, its free and you can store photos there. You just click on the IMG code and that is the one will work on the forums and also PMs, it automatically re-sizes the photo to an acceptable viewing size, also you can edit there too.
