Shrink-to-fit cloth

*Disclaimer* I have not done this and have no plans to do this; this is a theoretical question.

Since simonis cloth is mostly wool, if you have cloth that is loose: Could you wet the cloth and dry it with a hair dryer causing it to shrink and fit better?

Actually, if you use an iron set on the wool setting, and steam iron the cloth it will shrink up somewhat, but keep in mind that if the seams of the slates were filled with wax...the heat will melt the wax and draw it up into the cloth;)

Bondo is a used in automotive body repair....everyone's touched the surface of a body panel on a car thats been in the sun..light ironing will not harm the slate joints with Bondo filler
 
The band-aid approach doesn't correct the underlying problem and at best is a temporary fix.
Cloth gets loose because it either wasn't installed right (i.e. wrong glue or poor staple/glue job) or
there is a significant humidity issue,
