Sifting Through The AZ Ashes Looking For Embers . . .

I think maybe part of the problem is just the time right now. After the US Open until Derby is always kind of a down time for pro pool so there isn't a lot of tournament discussion to be had. There really haven't been any big challenge matches lately to discuss either. Hopefully things are better around here when the Derby starts.

As far as Facebook goes I have a couple of issues with it. The pool stuff I follow isn't really consolidated in one place so I have to find it among other items. Also, a lot of these pros that I would like to read what they have to say have only personal pages rather than fan pages. While I want to hear what they have to say about pool I don't feel like anything else personal that they post is my business. For that reason I feel awkward sending them friend requests when I don't really know them. If their account has a follow option sometimes I'll do that.

Part of the issue is that we've talked about just about everything by now. And when someone resurfaces a topic, they get the old, "Oh no, not this again. There are multiple threads about it. Do a search."

And then there is another issue: there are many members who, for a myriad of reasons, do not start threads any more.

One thing we haven't talked about is bumper pool:

Which tip should I use for bumper pool?
Do LD shafts have the same deflection with bumper pool balls?
Which bumper pool table should I buy?
Does anyone have Dennis Searing's phone number, he promised to make me a bumper pool cue 7-years ago.
Should I use TOB (touch of bumper) aiming system for bumper pool?

Are you looking for the sites you are working on to compete with or be an alternative to AZB?

best,

A FB group would never have the ability to compete with or replace AZ as it's Forums are backed by arguably the best site for pool news on the Web. I just want more professional and industry participation than we get here on AZ and as such I am trying to put something together... Right now most of the pros will post on Facebook as they can control the asshattery... Thats great if you are friends with them but even then I am not going to see everything I might be interested in as there are just too many people to follow... If I can get them to participate because they can admin the group as they will their own page I think it would be a decent place for the guys that won't post here.....
